There are very few top 25 matchups on this NFL Sunday but there are plenty of NCAA Basketball games that can put you on the plus side as we attempt to earn a profit with our picks.

Also make sure to check out:

La Salle vs. Villanova

Pepperdine (6-4) vs. Washington State (4-4)

Ride the Wave?

The boys from Malibu, the Pepperdine Waves, have had a relatively nice start to this season and although they’ve lost a couple of games on neutral sites, they’re an undefeated 3-0 on the road in another teams building. The Waves are a 9.5 point betting favorite against a Washington State team that has struggled. Is this another trap in which odds makers are looking for us to “ride the Waves?”

Losers of 4 out of their last 6 games, the Washington State Cougars have not been too impressive this season. They had one big test at home in late November against Gonzaga and failed miserably by 16 points. This is a team that only averages 69.3 points per game. They’re not a team that rebounds, passes, or shoots well. Are they worthy of being near double-digit favorites?

DaVonte Lacy

The junior guard is basically the backbone of the Cougars as he provides nearly 1/3 of their offense. Lacy is a reliable shooter that can knock down the 3-ball and play good defense. On the season, he’s averaging 21.4 points,3.9 rebounds, and is a 42.7% shooter from beyond the arc. We’re going to see a lot of Lacy in this game and it’s doubtful that the Pepperdine defense can contain him.

Pepperdine has a couple of options, but leading scorer, Stacy Davis, is coming off of a game in which he led the Waves to a 75-69 victory over UC Irvine as he led the team in scoring, rebounds, and assists. Look for this 245 pound heavyweight to barrel his way through the paint and attempt to produce for the Waves. He’s not Charles Barkley, but there are similarities to their games and obvious stature.

Washington State has done nothing to deserve being a favorite of this magnitude on the college basketball odds. They’ll be lucky just to win the game. “Ride the Waves” and take the points.

W. Michigan (5-3) vs. #24 Missouri (9-0)

79 Consecutive Victories Against Non-Conference Opponents At Home

The only team that has more than Missouri is Duke, but the Tigers have come racing out of the gates this season. Although they’ve only played on neutral sites and haven’t been tested on the road, the Tigers have won back to back games at home against West Virginia and UCLA, which have propelled them into a top 25 spot. Tonight’s game appears to be another victory for Missouri, but can Western Michigan make this a competitive game?

Embarrassing!

While Missouri was beating the likes of UCLA in their last game, Western Michigan could manage just 35 point in a 51-35 loss to Northwestern. The Broncos managed just 12 points by halftime. They shot just 10 of 41 from the field and 1 of 15 from 3-point range. The Broncos were no better from the foul line as they shot just 56%. The Broncos bench managed just 1 point for the game. I’m done talking about this team. Do they really think that they have a chance against a Missouri team, led by Jordan Clarkson (20.2 ppg.) and Jabari Brown (19.4 ppg.)? Look for a Missouri blowout. Lay the points for your college basketball picks.
