Let’s take a closer at the college basketball betting odds for the Big Ten Championship, with the opening tip scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
Wisconsin earned its 12th consecutive victory over Indiana Saturday, as it picked up a 68-56 victory as six-point neutral-site underdogs, while going UNDER the posted total of 128.
The Badgers are 14-6 straight up (SU) and 9-10 against the spread (ATS) versus conference foes during the 2012-13 season, while the UNDER is 11-9 in that situation.
Ohio State is the hottest team in the Big Ten Conference, as it has put together a seven-game winning streak, which includes a hard-fought 61-58 triumph over the Michigan State Spartans as 1.5-point favorites in the semifinals.
The Buckeyes are 18-3 SU and 15-6 ATS in March the last two-plus seasons, with the OVER going 12-9 in those 21 opportunities.
Each side held serve at home
College basketball handicappers will find that the favorite has covered the number in seven of the last eight meetings in this series, which was helped along by each team winning on its home floor during the regular season.
Wisconsin picked up a 71-49 blowout win as four-point home favorites on Feb. 17, while Ohio State tallied a 58-49 victory as 5.5-point favorites on Jan. 29.
The Buckeyes have won three of four meetings with the Badgers in the Big Ten tournament.
Craft and Thomas
Aaron Craft and Deshaun Thomas have certainly been in this spot before for the Buckeyes, as the Buckeyes suffered a 68-64 loss to the Spartans as 2.5-point favorites in last year’s conference championship.
Craft scored 20 points and dished out nine assists last time out, while Thomas has averaged 20.5 points in his last four games versus the Badgers.
I believe their experience will play a major part in determining the outcome of this affair and will make my NCAAB picks as such.
In shooting my SBR Video Saturday afternoon, I mentioned that Craft and Co. are focused on hanging another banner at Value City Arena, while exacting revenge from an embarrassing loss in Madison the last time these two teams met.
Ohio State will improve to 7-3 against Wisconsin when both teams meet up as members of the AP Top 25 poll.
