Louisville Cardinals have to go into Charlottsville and face the #3 ranked team in the nation in the Viriginia Cavaliers. See who we like as our pick for this matchup.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm ET tonight at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia. This game can be viewed nationally on ESPN.

College basketball odds list Virginia as a 7 point betting favorite and the total is a very low 117.5 due to these defenses. Not only is Virginia the best in the nation, but Louisville also allows less than 60 points per game. Both teams have offenses that score near 70 points per game, These teams could smash the total, going over, but do we want to take that risk when placing our bets?

How Good Is the Virginia "D" ?
This is a team that held has held 3 opponents to under 30 points in a ball game! While these teams weren't world beaters, that's still quite an amazing feat. Virginia has beaten up on their competition all season long. Their lone loss coming to a very good Duke team at home 69-63. I'm sure Virginia will look to avenge that loss down the road as the ACC is one of the toughest conferences in college basketball.

Virginia is coming off of a rather high scoring affair as they defeated #11 North Carolina, 75-64. In this game, the Cavs defense had 9 steals and 7 blocks to their credit to go along with efficient shooting as they shot over 50% from the field and over 40 % from beyond the arc. Guards Justin Anderson, Malcolm Brogdon, and London Perrantes all had very productive games offensively and the Cavs can only hope that Perrantes plays over his head again as Louisville is a tough customer.

Justin Anderson
Even though the Cavaliers are looking to play a slow tempo game, the better offense will win this game and Justin Anderson is the go to guy on this team. He fits the mold of an old school Jimmy Jackson at 6 foot 6, 227 pounds. Along with size, Anderson can shoot the lights out, averaging 50% from 3-point range for the season.

This native Virginian had trouble in the loss to Duke, but came right back with a huge effort over the Tarheels. Anderson shot 3 of 5 from 3-point range for 16 points and had 7 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals to go along with it. I expect a solid game out of Anderson at home against Louisville and this will be a tall order as the Cardinals allow just 58.8 points per game themselves.

Louisville has had one of the toughest schedules in America and their only losses on the season came to Duke, Kentucky, and North Carolina. This is certainly a winnable game for the underdog Cardinals, but they'll need to play near perfect and that starts with the 1-2 punch of Terry Rozier and Montrezl Harrell.

Not Enough Picks? How About Trying this NCAA Basketball Parlay Tonight?

Terry Rozier
Rozier is coming into this game full of confidence with 4 consecutive games of 20 points or more. A side note; the Cardinals have won 4 consecutive games and that's no mistake as Rozier makes this offense run. He's not the most efficient 3-point shooter. Rozier is more of a volume shooter, but in a game like this, that just might work. I don't know if he'll reach the 20 point plateau again, but expect a solid effort out of Rozier.

Montrezl Harrell is also another force to be reckoned with. He's averaging a near double-double on for the season and is averaging 20 points and 12 rebounds in his last 2 games which were against North Carolina and Miami (FL).

I see this game going down to the wire as Louisville has the talent on both sides of the ball to keep up with Virginia. 7 points are plenty.
