PAC-12 Tournament Pick
The sixth- seeded Washington Huskies will lock horns with the eleventh-seeded Washington State Cougars in the opening round of the PAC-12 college basketball tournament, with tip off set for 11:30 PM from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bovada’s opening line in this contest saw Washington listed as slim -1 point favorites on the college basketball odds, but they have already bumped that number up to -2, which is a clear indication that bettors are siding with the Huskies in this matchup.
The games over/under total is coming in at just 127 1/2 points, but certainly seems justified given both teams’ low offensive numbers and stingy defense. In fact, the Cougars are under in 4 of their last 5 games overall and 8 consecutive played on a neutral site. Meanwhile, the Huskies are under in 8 of 9 overall and 13 of 16 games played on a Wednesday.
Washington State comes into opening round of the conference tournament with records of 13-18 SU and 15-12-1 ATS. The Cougars offense ranks 251st in the country, scoring an average of 64.5 points per game on 42.6% shooting from the field. Defensively, they area holding opponents to fewer than 63 points per game (62.9), but they are allowing foes to shoot 42.7% against them on a nightly basis.
The Cougars are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games following a game where they covered the spread and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games following a SU win, but they are only 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games played on a neutral site.
Washington enters this opening round with records of 17-14 SU and 16-13 ATS. The Huskies feature an offense that averages 67.4 points per game on 43.4% shooting. On defense, the Huskies are surrendering 66.2 points per game and allowing opponents to shoot 43.1% from the field.
The Huskies are 4-1 ATS in their last five games that follow a game where they failed to cover the spread and an impressive 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following a SU loss. However, Washington is just 1-4 ATS in their last five games when facing a team with a losing SU record.

If history means anything, this contest favors Washington, as they are 16-11 in conference tournament history, while Washington State is just 5-13 all time. However, the Huskies offense is certainly something to be concerned about – especially since they scored less than 60 points seven times throughout this season, which is the most for them in 13 years.
With that said, the Huskies should have enough in their tank to get past the Cougars in this game, so laying the cheap -2 points is the right play to make to cash in a winning ticket.
