In a highly contested Pac-12 Conference, the 16th ranked Oregon Ducks are undefeated and look to keep the ball rolling as they host a respectable Washington Huskies team. Can the Huskies pull off the upset?

Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday, 7:00 pm ET at the Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon.

5 Dimes Sportsbook currently lists the Ducks as a 7.5 point NCAAB odds favorite with no total.

The Ducks are coming off of a hard fought victory over Washington State in which they trailed by 10 at halftime. They have forward, E.J. SIngler to thank as 14 of Singler’s team high 19 points came in the 2nd half which enabled Oregon to pull out a 68-61 victory.

19 Straight at Home

It’s an accomplishment, but it’s also a challenge for the Ducks to maintain their current winning streak. Difficulty of opponent is important and Oregon sports some huge victories over Nevada, Oregon State, UCLA, Arizona, and Washington State. That has to be one of the most impressive resumes that I’ve seen in a while. Washington will be hard-pressed to come into Eugene and get a “W”.

A Team Effort

With no definitive superstar, sometimes this type of a roster can backfire on a team, but who can argue with Oregon’s results thus far.

They have 5 players that score in double figures and are led by Damyean Dotson with 11.9 points per game. Watson is just a freshman and will only improve. Who will standout for the Ducks against Washington? It was Singler against Washington State, but on a team like this, anything is possible and anyone can have a big game. This system of frequent substitutions keeps the players fresh and seems to work out well for most teams.

If you’re looking for consistency, Dotson is the player that I would stick with. His shooting has been suspect as of late, but he’s the Duck that’s shown the most promise.

Bubble Boys

Washington has lost consecutive games to Oregon State and Utah and the schedule doesn’t get easier from here. The Huskies could possibly be a bubble team and a victory over Oregon would be huge where the NCAA Tournament is concerned. Easier said than done.

C.J. Wilcox

If the junior really wants to be noticed on the national level and beyond, this is the type of game where he needs to go big. Wilcox is the best player in this game, averaging 19.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. Oregon has proven from their comeback victory against Washington State that they’re not invincible.

Wilcox has shot just 13 of 32 from the field in his last two games , but did manage to score 23 points against Oregon State with 4- 3 pointers. This isn’t a make or break game for the Huskies, but this is a major opportunity. Are they up for the challenge? If so, C.J. Wilcox will have to go “HAM”. (you’ll have to research that phrase).

Outcome

I know that most people will be all over Oregon for their basketball picks, but I don’t like their last performance against Washington State. Oregon has dominated every Pac-12 team in their way and although they should pull out a victory, it won’t be an easy one.

NCAA Basketball Picks: Washington +7.5 (wait to see if this line changes. If you can get it at 8, that would be better. But 7.5 is still desirable)
