Our NCAA basketball expert Ross Benjamin has gone 17-11-1 ATS (61%) the last twelve betting days with his underdog NCAA basketball picks. On Tuesday, he has two more gems!

West Virginia vs. Kansas 7:00 PM ET
Kansas has seemingly righted the ship by going 3-0 SU&ATS in its last three games. That was preceded by a five game stretch in which they went 2-3. The Jayhawks have shot the ball very well over its past four games. However, it remains to be seen if they can continue shooting that well against West Virginia’s disruptive defensive style. They clearly had difficulty in their first go around at West Virginia in January. They shot just 41% during that contest, and it was a struggle to just get into their half court sets. As a matter of fact, the Jayhawks had a season low 48 field goal attempts. Putting that number into perspective, they enter tonight averaging 60 field goal attempts per game this season.

It’s never easy to win at Allen Field House in Lawrence, Kansas, but #10 West Virginia has the ingredients to stay in this game from start to finish. These teams met earlier this season in Morgantown, and the Mountaineers came away with a decisive 74-63 win. They won that game against then top ranked Kansas despite shooting 33% from the floor. West Virginia was able to gather 14 offensive rebounds in addition to amassing 47 free throw attempts, and that combination overcompensated for their poor shooting. The Mountaineers vaunted pressure defense rattled the Jayhawks and forced them into 22 turnovers. Granted they’ll be facing an angry opponent this evening that’s gone 12-0 at home, and will be playing with revenge. However, West Virginia has gone a stellar 5-2 in true road games this season, and one of those defeats came by a narrow 2 point margin at #3 Oklahoma.

I fully expect Kansas to play a much stronger game compared to their 11 point loss in its first encounter with West Virginia. Having said that, asking them to cover as a 7.0 point favorite against #10 West Virginia is a tall order. I’m going with the Mountaineers for one of my NCAA basketball picks on Tuesday.

Northwestern vs. Ohio State 8:00 PM ET
This isn’t one of Thad Motta’s stronger teams since taking over as head coach at Ohio State. Granted that they’re a respectable 14-10 overall and 6-5 in Big Ten action. However, comparatively to Buckeyes teams in recent years, they fall short of the excellent standard that those squads had set. Past Ohio State teams have been dominant at home. This season they’ve already lost four games in Columbus, including embarrassing defeats to Texas-Arlington and Louisiana Tech. The Buckeyes enter Tuesday’s game having gone 0-2 SU&ATS in its last two, and 2-4 SU&ATS in their previous six games.

Northwestern was able to end a five game slide during an 82-58 home win against Minnesota in their previous outing. In the process of doing so, they also broke out of a horrific shooting slump by going 53.7% from the field. The Wildcats have gone a respectable 4-3 straight up and 5-2 ATS in true road games this season. They’ll also be out to avenge a 9 point home loss at the hands of Ohio State during the first week of January.

Current NCAA basketball odds provide me the best number for this specific wager and the best NCAA basketball pick for today.
