Both of tonight's recommended NCAA basketball picks come in ACC action. Which two plays stand out most?

Maryland Terrapins vs. North Carolina Tar Heels

The Tar Heels opened as 9.5-point favorites, but that number's been quickly bet down to its current status of either 7 of 7.5

On the year, North Carolina is 14-7 SU and 10-11 ATS (4-4 in conference play), with Maryland at 13-9 SU and 9-9 ATS (5-4 in conference play).

The Tar Heels have recorded three consecutive wins, beating Clemson (80-61), Georgia Tech (78-65) and NC State (84-70) all fairly comfortably. This streak has been exactly what Roy Williams would have wanted to see after his team had dropped four of five, which included a bad home defeat to Miami (FL).

For the first time this year, the Tar Heels will do battle with the Terrapins, who come in on the heels of two straight wins.

Maryland was able to overcome Miami (74-71) at home and then smashed Virginia Tech 80-60 on the road a few days later. The Terrapins will enter having gone 6-5 ATS in 11 road and neutral-site contests this season.

This is a head-to-head series that the Tar Heels have simply dominated over recent years. They've won seven straight meetings in a row and have covered in four of those straight up victories, which includes two out of three last year.

We're looking for that dominance to shine through again tonight, with North Carolina our favorite NCAA basketball pick on the spread here. The Tar Heels have looked a lot better over the last week or so and should be able to keep that momentum going with another win at home.

Pick: North Carolina Tar Heels -7

Wake Forest Demon Deacons vs. Duke Blue Devils

Staying in the ACC, we're liking the value of another favorite this time around. It comes in Duke's home game against Wake Forest.

A quick look over the NCAA basketball odds and we find the Blue Devils are widely expected to win in blowout fashion. The lines show the home team favored by 18 points, while the total can either be found at 147.5 or 148.

Duke has been off since that ridiculously entertaining 89-91 loss at Syracuse, a defeat which broke a five-game winning streak. The Blue Devils, though, have been completely killing it at the betting window for backers, having cashed in five straight games.

The Demon Deacons have lost two in a row, falling to Syracuse (57-67) and Georgia Tech (70-79) at home. There's a legitimate chance they could be without leading scorer Codi Miller-McIntyre tonight, who's currently listed as questionable due to an ankle injury.

That's not a good sign for Wake Forest, as they come up against a Blue Devils team that's been terrific, as usual, at Cameron Indoor Stadium, going 12-0 SU and 8-4 ATS in 12 games there so far.

Tonight we reckon Duke will be adding another win to both records. This NCAA basketball betting line is going to scare off a lot of people, but the Blue Devils have been on a roll against the spread, covering all sorts of chalk in the process, and should be able to bounce back in style after the loss to the Orange. That's especially true if Miller-McIntyre can't go, as we just don't see the Demon Deacons being able to keep up offensively.

With that said, we're rolling with Coach K's team to cover once more.

Pick: Duke Blue Devils -18
