Free NCAA Basketball picks for a few of Tuesday's biggest games. Find out where our handicappers believe that the best value lies for college basketball bettors tonight.

With the regular season winding down, the college basketball value is getting thinner and thinner. That said, let's see if we can beat the books with our College Basketball picks tonight.

Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Iowa Hawkeyes

Tonight the Hawkeyes will try to fend off a tough challenge from Illinois as 3.5-point favorites on the NCAA basketball odds board.

The total for this one can be found at 135. As a heads up, the UNDER is 4-0 in Iowa's last four games and has also hit in five of Illinois' previous seven overall.

We are staying away from an O/U play however and backing Iowa to cover this small spread.

Dating back to last season, the Hawkeyes have gone 20-7 ATS in their previous 27 home contests. They are also 6-2 ATS over their last eight overall heading into tonight.

We like Iowa's depth as well. They have nine different guys who have averaged at least 15 minutes of court-time, so that could definitely serve them well against an Illinois team that's a bit top heavy with Brandon Paul and D.J. Richardson. Roy-Devyn Marble leads the team with 14.2 PPG, but Aaron White (13.7 RPG and 6.2 RPG) has been the main hub on both ends of the floor.

Truth be told, the Fighting Illini have done quite well on the road this season, but we like this spot for Iowa. They're on the prowl for a bounce-back win and there's no better place to do that than at home.

The Hawkeyes have gone 14-2 SU and a very profitable 9-3 ATS in their building so far and we're picking them to get another cover.

Pick: Iowa Hawkeyes -3.5

Marquette Golden Eagles vs. Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Despite losing a lot of talent from last year's team, the Golden Eagles have beaten the odds and have looked just as dangerous this season.

That explains why they're favored by 6.5 points at the top sportsbooks for this road game against Rutgers. The total for this Big East showdown had not been released at time of writing, but it's safe to assume the number won't be that high.

Don't be fooled by the final score against Georgetown. Though they lost by 13 in the end, the Scarlet Knights gave the Hoyas everything they could handle on their own floor and were actually leading at one point.

We really like how everyone else on this Rutgers team has stepped up since Eli Carter, the team's top scorer, suffered a season-ending injury. Myles Mack has quickly emerged as the go-to guy offensively, while the Scarlet Knights

Though Rutgers has had trouble covering spreads at home this season, we believe this is one spot where they'll get the job done.

The Scarlet Knights have avoided blowouts for the most part this season and we like them to keep this one within seven points. There's also a small chance we could witness an upset here, with Marquette potentially having a letdown after two straight impressive wins (over Syracuse and Notre Dame) on their home floor.

Since we expect a tough-nosed battle here, we are taking the points and backing Mack and company to stay close.

Pick: Rutgers Scarlet Knights +6.5
