College Basketball Top 25 Report: A Look At ATS Numbers.
Duke, Michigan & Arizona
The Wolverines are also perfect on the season, with a 13-0 record, but are producing much better results than Duke against the spread. Michigan is 8-4 ATS overall and 8-3 at home.
Like Duke and Michigan, the Wildcats have also won all their games straight up this season, as they currently stand at 12-0 on the year. Their ATS numbers have been pretty good as well, producing a 7-3 mark in ten chances.
Louisville, Indiana, Kansas, Syracuse
All four teams have suffered just one loss on the season, but their ATS numbers tell a completely different story. The Cardinals (12-1) are a mediocre 7-6 against the spread overall, including 4-4 at home. Meanwhile, Indiana (13-1) is a more than respectable 8-4 ATS overall and 7-2 at home. Kansas (11-1) is another just average team against the spread. In fact, in ten home games this season they have produced a less than impressive 5-5- ATS record. Syracuse (12-1) is the best among the group against the spread, as they own a 6-2-1 record as a favorite and are 5-2 at home.
Ohio State, Minnesota & Gonzaga Round Out The Top Ten
The Buckeyes (10-2) are slightly above average against the spread, as they have covered six of ten matchups overall and five of eight at home.
Minnesota (13-1) has been one of the best schools ranked in the top ten to produce an exceptional winning record against the spread. They are 8-4 ATS overall, 2-0 on the road and 7-3 when listed as favorites.
Gonzaga (13-1) has produced seven point spread covers compared to five losses, including six of them coming at home.
Illinois, Missouri, Florida, Cincinnati & Georgetown
The Fighting Illini (13-1) are losers against the spread with a 5-6 record, including a poor 3-5 mark at home. Missouri (10-2) is perhaps one of the worst teams in the top 25 covering the spread on their home floor. In five home games so far this season, they are only 1-4 ATS.
The Gators (9-2) have been listed as favorites in eight contests this season, producing a 4-4 record, with three wins coming at home.
Cincinnati (13-1) has managed to cover the spread in just two home games all season. However, they are a perfect 4-0 ATS on the road.
Georgetown (10-1) is only 2-5 ATS overall and 1-4 in five games that they were listed as favorites.
The Rest of the Top 25
Creighton (12-1) has been sensational against the spread this season, producing a 9-2 record. Meanwhile, Butler (10-2) is a respectable 7-4 ATS, but unfortunately we can’t say the same for Michigan State (11-3), as they have produced just a 3-8 record versus the number.
San Diego State (11-2) has been poor against the spread at home, owning a 1-3 record, but they have been perfect on the road, going 5-0 so far this season.
New Mexico (13-2) is 6-7-1 ATS overall and only 3-6 at home. Notre Dame (12-1) is a modest 6-4 ATS overall and 5-3 at home.
Oklahoma State (10-2) is a decent 7-4 ATS overall and 2-0 in the underdog role this season. North Carolina State (11-2) is only average against the spread, cashing in six of eleven times this season.
Pittsburgh (12-2) is a .500 team against the spread with a 4-4 mark on the year.
And last but not least, rounding out the top 25 is Kansas State (11-2), who have really failed covering the number this season. They are 3-6 ATS overall, 0-3 away, 2-4 as a favorite and 1-2 as a puppy.Don't forget to check in at our NCAAB Picks page for all of the latest free picks and advice!
