There are just two unbeaten teams left in college basketball in South Carolina and SMU, and the Mustangs could fall from those ranks with a tough matchup Thursday. Here I offer my recommendations for your NCAA basketball picks based on the current NCAA basketball odds market available for the best matchups of the evening. Let's get started...

Cincinnati vs. No. 7 SMU (-7 On NCAA Basketball Odds)
I think it's fair to say that we won't be seeing a team enter the 2016 NCAA Tournament without a loss like Kentucky did last year. There's no chance South Carolina will run the table the rest of the way. And there's no chance SMU will enter the Big Dance unbeaten because the Mustangs aren't allowed to play postseason basketball, including the American Athletic Conference Tournament, due to NCAA violations. So the players on SMU (13-0, 2-0) have stated their goal is to finish at 31-0. That's actually doable because this is the best team by a wide margin in the AAC. However, one of the Mustangs' best players, junior guard Keith Frazier, has left the team. He was the focus of those NCAA violations, which also saw Coach Larry Brown suspended nine games this season; he has since returned. Frazier, a former McDonald's All-American, was averaging 11.9 points and 4.4 rebounds. He missed Saturday's win over South Florida and now apparently isn't coming back. Cincinnati (11-4, 1-1) could get back into the Top 25 next week with a win here. The Bearcats ended a two-game losing streak with a 76-57 home win over Tulsa last Saturday. UC's defense held the Golden Hurricane to 22 percent shooting in the first half for a 14-point lead that was never threatened. SMU will be looking for payback here as it lost both games to Cincinnati last season. SMU star Nic Moore struggled in both. He had 11 points but six turnovers in the loss at Cincinnati and eight points on 1-for-8 shooting in the defeat in Dallas.

Cincinnati is 2-7 ATS in its past nine games. It has covered one of its past six following a win. SMU is 13-5 ATS in its past 18 games vs. teams with a winning percentage above .600.

Notre Dame vs. Boston College (+8 In NCAA Betting)
The Irish (9-4, 0-1) are probably an NCAA Tournament bubble team right now as they have just one quality win: over Iowa in a Florida holiday tournament. Notre Dame opened ACC play last Saturday with its first matchup against a ranked team this season and the Irish lost 77-66 at No. 5 Virginia. It was 36-24 at halftime for the Wahoos and Notre Dame didn't get closer than 10 in scoring its fewest points of the season. Coach Mike Brey fell to 0-7 in his career against Virginia. Notre Dame had previously won nine straight conference openers dating back to its Big East days. Virginia finished with a 30-25 rebounding edge, dropping the Irish to 1-3 when they lose the battle on the boards. Boston College (7-7, 0-1) saw a four-game winning streak end with an 81-64 loss to No. 15 Duke on Saturday. The Eagles have zero good wins this year and have lost all four games against power teams by at least nine points. BC has two good players in Eli Carter (17.3 ppg) and Jerome Robinson (12.4 ppg) but not much else. The Irish are 4-0 against Boston College since joining the ACC. Their last loss in the series was in 2003.

The Irish are 0-4 ATS in their past four games.  BC is 7-3 ATS in its past 10 at home vs. teams with a losing road record.

Alabama vs. Ole Miss (-5 For NCAA Basketball Picks)
This would be a much better football game -- the Rebels handed the Tide's football team its only loss in 2015 heading into Monday's national championship game. Somehow, this is the SEC opener for Alabama (9-3). The Tide enter having won two straight since an overtime loss to Oregon. Its other losses are to Dayton and Xavier so those are all good teams. Bama beat Notre Dame and Wichita State when they were ranked. Alabama has won four straight games away from Tuscaloosa coming into Thursday’s game. It’s the longest road winning streak during the regular season since the 2001-02 season. This is the inaugural game in Ole Miss' new 9,500-seat, $96.5 million arena called The Pavilion at Ole Miss. I thought the Rebels (10-3, 0-1) would give Kentucky a good game last Saturday in Lexington but UK rolled 73-61 to end Mississippi's seven-game winning streak. SEC leading scorer Stefan Moody had 23 points, his eighth straight 20-point game for Ole Miss (longest at school since 1992), but got no help. Ole Miss has won two straight and six of the past nine in this series. The Rebels won 82-74 in Tuscaloosa last season in the one meeting. Ole Miss has won 14 of the past 17 meetings at home.

Should be a great atmosphere in the new building, so take Ole Miss. The Tide are 2-6 ATS in their past eight Thursday games. Ole Miss is 9-2 ATS in its past 11 after a loss. The Rebels are 5-1-1 ATS in the past seven meetings.
