AP Top 25 teams were just a combined 27-23, with 16 defeats coming against unranked teams. You have to love parity. Here are my top three NCAA basketball picks for the day.

Michigan vs. Ohio State (-1.5 On NCAA Basketball Odds)
The Wolverines (19-7, 9-4) can keep their Big Ten regular-season title hopes alive with a win, while Ohio State (16-10, 8-5) has work to do to be considered for an at-large NCAA Tournament berth. Michigan got tremendous news on Saturday and not just its 61-56 upset of No. 18 Purdue. UM got back its best player, Caris LeVert, from injury. He hadn't played since Dec. 30. He wasn't a factor in 11 minutes but his role will grow with each game as he gets back into shape. Zak Irvin had 22 points in the win over the Boilermakers, the only UM player in double figures. Michigan scored the game's final 11 points. OSU won 79-69 at Rutgers on Saturday for its second straight victory. Beating Rutgers doesn't help your NCAA resume. Beating Michigan would. The school will retire the jersey of Evan Turner at the game. He was he national player of the year in 2010. The Buckeyes are 10-1 at home against rival Michigan under Coach Thad Matta. This is the only scheduled meeting of the season.

The Wolverines are 2-5 ATS in their past seven after a win. OSU is 9-3-1 ATS in its past 13 at home.

Rutgers vs. Illinois (-15.5 In NCAA Betting)
Rutgers (6-19, 0-12 Big Ten) is terrible, having lost 27 consecutive Big Ten games. I might have given the Scarlet Knights a small shot of winning at a pretty bad Illinois team (11-14, 3-9) here but that's no longer the case because Rutgers has suspended its best player, guard Corey Sanders, four games due to a violation of team rules. Sanders ranks first among freshmen in the Big Ten in scoring (16.2 points per game), steals (1.6) and second in assists (4.1). He is averaging 30.0 points over the past three games. Rutgers' Big Ten skid is the longest by a conference team since Northwestern dropped 28 in a row from 1999-2001. Illinois lost at Northwestern 58-56 on Saturday. Star Malcolm Hill hit the apparent tying jumper with 2.7 seconds left but it was waived off due to a foul on Northwestern off the ball. The on the inbounds play, Hill tripped over someone's foot and never was able to get a shot off. Illinois and Rutgers played maybe the game of the year in the Big Ten on Feb. 3, a 103-101 triple overtime Illini win. Sanders had a career high 39 points but missed a free throw with 3.3 seconds to play in regulation that would have put the Scarlet Knights ahead. Hill had 32 for Illinois.

Rutgers is 7-19 ATS in its past 26 Big Ten games. Illinois is 5-1-1 ATS in its past seven vs. teams with a losing record. With Illinois a -14 point favorite in the NCAA basketball odds boards, we are taking them for our NCAA basketball picks.

No. 13 Iowa State vs. No. 25 Baylor (-2.5 For NCAA Basketball Picks)
There's just almost never a night off in the crazy deep Big 12. Let's look at Baylor's remaining regular-season schedule, for example. There's this game, at No. 24 Texas, vs. No. 2 Kansas, at TCU, at No. 3 Oklahoma and vs. No. 10 West Virginia. You simply have to take care of business against the few bad teams in the conference when you can. The Bears (18-7, 7-5) didn't do that Saturday, losing 84-66 at home to Texas Tech. The Red Raiders used a 16-3 second-half run to hand the Bears their third straight conference loss at home. Rico Gathers did play for Baylor after missing a game due to illness and had seven points and nine rebounds. He moved to third all-time in rebounding in the Big 12 with 1,092. Iowa State beat No. 24 Texas on Saturday, 85-75 in Ames. Monte Morris tied his career high with 24 points, 19 in the second half. ISU shot 66.7 percent after the break. Forward Jameel McKay returned from a two-game suspension and had eight points and seven rebounds off the bench. He usually starts. It was Iowa State's fourth win over a ranked team in seven games this season. Baylor went to Iowa State on Jan. 9 and pulled off a 94-89 upset. The Bears trailed by 12 in the second half. Johnathan Motley had a career-high 27 points and added 13 rebounds in the win. Baylor has won three straight games vs. Iowa State for the first time in school history.

The Cyclones are 8-3-1 ATS in their past 12 road games. Baylor is 0-5 ATS in its past five at home.
