Penn vs. No. 17 Villanova (-25.5 On NCAA Basketball Odds)
The Wildcats (9-2) won at St. Joseph's 86-72 on Dec. 1 and at home against La Salle 76-47 on Dec. 13. They still play at Temple in mid-February to complete the Big 5 schedule. Nova last was in action Tuesday and bounced back from a loss at Virginia with a 78-48 rout of Delaware. Villanova hit 13 3-pointers, with 11 of those coming in the first half as the Wildcats built a 21-point lead. Junior Josh Hart had his second career double-double and first of this season, scoring 18 points to go with a career-high 14 rebounds. There was a bit of bad news as junior Kris Jenkins exited with a right knee injury in the first half. An MRI revealed a strain. He is questionable for this game. Jenkins has started 10 of 11 games for the Wildcats and averages 10.9 points -- third on the team -- and 3.0 rebounds per game. Penn (5-6) lost 53-52 in overtime at Drexel last Tuesday. The Quakers had potential winning shots at the end of regulation and overtime but Antonio Woods' efforts missed both times. He did lead all scorers with 17 points. For a point of comparison, Penn also has played La Salle and won 80-64 at home.

The Quakers are 4-1 ATS in their past five after a loss.

IUPUI vs. No. 9 Butler (-24 In NCAA Betting)
IUPUI (4-10) was routed at Memphis last Tuesday, 84-48. The Jaguars shot a season-worst 25 percent from the floor and were just 1-of-12 from 3-point range. IUPUI's 17 first half points were the Jaguars' fewest since scoring 16 at Evansville on Dec. 6 of last season. Darell Combs led IUPUI in scoring for the ninth straight game but was only 4-for-14 for 15 points. Senior Marcellus Barksdale finished with seven boards and in doing so became just the 14th player in school history to surpass 500 rebounds in a career. Butler (10-1) has won seven straight since its only loss, 85-75 to Miami (Fla.) in Puerto Rico. The bulldogs clubbed Southern Utah 88-52 last Tuesday. Roosevelt Jones posted his sixth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Tyler Wideman made all seven of his attempts from the field to lead the Bulldogs with 15 points. Butler had one stretch where it made 17 of 20 shots and finished shooting .638 overall from the field. The Bulldogs' 10-1 start is their best since the 2008-09 team began 19-1. They rank second nationally in scoring at 89.7 points per game. Butler has won all four meetings with IUPUI, all at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Butler could be caught looking ahead to a huge Big East opener against ranked Providence on New Year's Eve. IUPUI is 11-5 ATS in its past 16 road games vs. teams with a winning home record. Keep that in mind for your NCAA basketball picks.

UNC Greensboro vs. No. 7 North Carolina (-27.5 For NCAA Basketball Picks)
The NCAA basketball odds are out for tonight's game as the Spartans (4-8) bring a three-game losing streak into this one. They were beaten 58-52 at NC State last Tuesday. It was a tie game with under four minutes left, but the Wolfpack closed on a 14-6 run. Junior guard Diante Baldwin paced the Spartans with 13 points while also grabbing seven rebounds, dishing out four assists and posting two steals. UNCG shot only 35 percent but did outrebound NC State 40-38. The Spartans played another ACC team, Wake Forest, very tough as well on Dec. 15 before the Deacons went on a late run to win by 10. North Carolina (10-2), remains without starting forward Kennedy Meeks due to a knee injury. The Heels are off a 94-70 rout of Appalachian State. Carolina forced 19 turnovers and scored a season-high 31 points off those turnovers. Brice Johnson had 22 points and Marcus Paige 17. Johnson tied the North Carolina record in making 16 straight field goals.

He had made his final 11 the previous game vs. UCLA and then his first five vs. App State. Johnson has really raised his game with Meeks out. He has three career 20-point games and three of them are in the past three games. The Heels got a scare from Paige as he hurt his right ankle in the first half and didn't play much in the second half. Paige says he's fine but might Coach Roy Williams hold him out here and wait for the ACC opener Wednesday against Clemson? The Heels are averaging 91.3 points in their past six games. North Carolina beat UNCG 79-56 last year. The Spartans missed 20 of their first 23 shots.

The Spartans are 5-1 ATS in their past six vs. the ACC. North Carolina has failed to cover its past six Monday games.
