NCAA Basketball has yet to take full effect, but there are still a sufficient amount of tournaments with some reputable teams to make some coin. Let's take a look at today's slate and provide you the top picks.

Fairfield (1-0) vs. Duke (1-0)

Coaches Versus Cancer Classic

Feasting Off of the Weak
I provided Duke as a betting pick in my 1st installment of NCAA Basketball Picks of the Day and they covered the massive spread with an easy 113-44 victory over Presbyterian. Coach K doesn't purposely choose these cupcakes to start off the Duke schedule as you see in this game. With that said, Fairfield isn't in Duke's league...or conference as the NCAA basketball odds indicate. Duke is a 32.5 point betting favorite and although that was expected against Presbyterian, it's a bit high for Fairfield, who is an established university where NCAA hoops are concerned.

Jahlil Okafor
I have a feeling that we won't see a player of this size with this amount of talent in the rest of Coach K's coaching career. Presbyterian was no match for Okafor who "went ham" on them, shooting 9 for 10 from the field with 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists in just 23 minutes of play. Okafor was the top recruit in the country in 2014 in the NCAA and now you know why. The sky is the limit. I can't see any small conference team having any chance of stopping this freak of nature with super basketball skill. Look for Okafor to clobber the Stags.

Their first opponent is really not much to go by, but freshman Grayson Allen also displayed his offensive ability as he poured in 18 points in a mere 18 minutes! Coach Krzyzewski really doesn't have to recruit hard because most young players know that Duke is a top university with the best coach in college basketball. This team has a legitimate shot to win the National Title. Also getting involved in the offense, as expected, was the reliable senior point guard, Quinn Cook. Cook provides the experience on this team and that will come in handy when the inter-conference matchups arrive.

The Stags are coming off of a 71-63 victory over Central Connecticut State Blue Devils. I have news for them; this Duke Blue Devils team will be a much tougher opponent than Central Connecticut State Blue Devils.

Central Connecticut State had this game well in hand as junior Marcus Gilbert had a solid effort with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. The Stags and K.J. Rose (2 for 11) will need to shoot much better to be competitive against Duke.

NCAA Basketball Pick: Duke -32 at Pinnacle (This team is dominant)

VMI (1-0) at Army (1-0)

All- Military Classic

A Rare Occasion
Something that you rarely see; Army is a massive 12.5 point betting favorite in college hoops. I have news for you folks; the Army Knights are a lot better at basketball than they are at football. Tonight, on the West Point Campus, Army gets the home court advantage against VMI, who managed to squeak by Citadel in their first game of the season 66-65.

A High Scoring Affair
VMI Sophomore Qj Peterson will be licking his chops at the thought of a fast paced game. Peterson is coming off of a huge 25 point effort in the win over Citadel and has proven in the past to be a great ball distributor and and reliable shooter. That said, Peterson has never met a shot that he doesn't like and you can expect him to put up 20-25 shots minimum in this game.He faces an Army defense that managed to get the job done in their first game of the season as they defeated Air Force, 84-78 to start the season off right

Army carries a very deep squad as they go 11 players deep. Guard, Kyle Wilson is the leader of the Black Knights and got off to a fast start against Air Force. He poured in 25 points and went 4 for 7 from 3-point range while shooting over 50 % from the field. Wilson is definitely the go to guy in this game. This is his junior year and he's never shot below 40% from 3-point range in his athletic career and is a pure scorer. Look for a 20 plus effort from the Mission Viejo, California native and he should receive support from junior Tanner Plomb, who is coming off of a 22 point effort against Air Force.

Army is a huge NCAA basketball odds betting favorite in this game for a reason. Take the Black Knights at home with confidence as this team can shoot the lights out.
