There's just no getting a break in Big 12 action. Iowa State beat No. 1 Oklahoma last week and now hosts No. 3 Kansas on Monday, the best NCAA basketball picks just arrived!

Penn State vs. Ohio State
Penn State (11-9, 2-5 Big Ten) comes off a 66-60 home loss to Wisconsin on Thursday. The Nittany Lions were down by as many as 17 in the second half and couldn't get any closer than three. Four Penn State players scored in double figures for the fourth time this season, led by 13 points from Brandon Taylor, all in the second half. He leads PSU in scoring at 16.2 ppg. Penn State averages 66.7 points per game but allows 68.6. Ohio State (12-8, 4-3) enters on a two-game losing streak, getting blown out at Maryland on Jan. 16 and then falling by 11 at Purdue on Thursday. Really no shame in the losses as the Terps and Boilermakers are two of the Big Ten's best teams. OSU shot better than Purdue, 43-39 percent, but fell to 9-8 when doing so this season. Last year, Ohio State was 23-0 when outshooting opponents. This will be the 200th regular-season Big Ten game for Ohio State coach Thad Matta. He is 136-63 in conference games. OSU is 16-4 all-time vs. Penn State in Columbus. The Buckeyes were 2-0 against Penn State last year, winning by 20 at home. This is their only regular-season meeting this year. The Lions are 1-4 ATS in their past five vs. teams with a winning record. OSU is 13-3 ATS in its past 16 at home vs. teams with a losing road record. The Buckeyes 6-2 against the NCAA basketball odds in their past eight meetings.

No. 20 Duke vs. No. 15 Miami Fla.
These rankings are from last week and it's possible, although unlikely, that  Duke (15-3, 4-3 ACC) falls out of the new AP Top 25 when it's released on Monday. Duke hasn't been unranked since the 2006-07 season and that was the last time the Blue Devils had lost three straight before they just did. Loss No. 3 in a row was at home to Syracuse last Monday, but Duke bounced back with an 88-78 win at NC State on Saturday. The Wolfpack led 43-36 at halftime. The Blue Devils  shot a scalding 71 percent in the second half. Grayson Allen led Duke with 28 points and freshman Brandon Ingram had 25. They are No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, in scoring in the ACC in conference play. Rather amazingly, Duke has scored at least 70 points in 35 straight games vs. NC State. Miami (15-3, 4-2) avoided a three-game losing streak of its own with a 67-53 win at Boston College last Wednesday and then beat visiting Wake Forest 77-63 on Saturday. Miami is only 5-17 all-time against Duke but since Coach Jim Larranaga arrived in Coral Gables, the Canes are one of two teams in the country to beat Duke three or more times (Notre Dame the other). Since 2011-12, Duke has five losses by at least 16 points. Two are to UM. That includes 90-74 at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Jan. 13, 2015. The Blue Devils 18-8 ATS in their past 26 vs. teams with a winning record. UM is 0-3-1 ATS in its past four. The road team has covered eight of the past 10 meetings.

No. 3 Kansas vs. No. 19 Iowa State
Kansas (16-3, 5-2) will drop some from that No. 3 perch in Monday's new polls because the Jayhawks were crushed last Tuesday at Oklahoma State. All three KU  losses have come away from home. But Coach Bill Self's team bounced back with a 76-67 home win over Texas on Saturday. KU did trail by 12 in the first half. Senior and leading scorer Perry Ellis scored 26 points for Kansas, including 19 in the second half. Self made one change, inserting junior forward Landen Lucas into the starting lineup for the first time this season and he had 10 rebounds (no points) in 23 minutes. With all due respect to Kansas or Oklahoma, I believe the most talented team overall in the Big 12 is Iowa State (15-4, 4-3). The Cyclones bring a three-game winning streak into this one. That includes an upset of No. 1 Oklahoma last Monday. ISU avoided a letdown game Saturday with a 13-point win at TCU. Senior Georges Niang is second in the Big 12 in averaging 19.3 points per game. Iowa State has won three of the past four meetings with KU. The Cyclones beat the Jayhawks 86-81 in Ames last season and then 70-66 in the Big 12 Tournament title game. KU is 0-4 ATS in its past four games. ISU is 4-1 ATS in its past five vs. teams with a winning road record. Add Iowa State to your NCAA basketball picks.
