NCAAB Teams are beginning to warm up for the Big Dance to follow. Let's take a look at some conference tournament games today and cash in our NCAA basketball picks.

Memphis Tigers vs. Connecticut Huskies
Two teams in the midst of middling seasons suddenly emerge to stun their conference foes and meet in the conference tournament finale. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why they play the games. The Memphis Tigers have been crushing opponents when it counts, scoring straight up and ATS winners for all who have included them in their NCAA basketball picks over the course of their last three games. The Tigers began the AAC tourney as the 6th seed with an 89-67 win over No. 3 Tulsa as five point neutral site underdogs. In their last game they annihilated upstart Tulane by the score of 74-54 as 11-point neutral site chalk. Now they must face the team that they have bowed to twice this season, the Connecticut Huskies.

The Huskies have won and covered the NCAA basketball odds boards in three straight as well. They wrapped their regular season with a 67-46 victory over UCF then knocked off their first two AAC conference tournament adversaries, No. 4 Cincinnati and top seed Temple by the scores of 104-97 (quadruple overtime) and 77-62 respectively.

This is an interesting matchup between two teams that have caught fire at the right time. While U Conn could see an invitation to the Big Dance even with a loss here there is no such opportunity for the Tigers. If Memphis wins they get an automatic bid but if they lose then the season ends. Despite that desperation I don't see the Tigers hanging with a much more athletic and defensively sound Huskies' squad that can hit from the perimeter. U Conn handled Memphis in both games played between the two schools this season with the latest coming on February 4th in Memphis where the Huskies throttled the Tigers 77-57 as two-point road favorites. I see that happening all over again.

Purdue Boilermakers vs. Michigan State Spartans
The Boilermakers are winners of their last five games and have covered the number in four of those five. They have cruised to effortless Big 10 Tournament victories over Illinois (89-58) and then Michigan (76-59). Purdue is clicking on all cylinders but they will be tested against Tom Izzo's talented club this afternoon.

Michigan State has been a veritable ATM for bettors blindly backing the Spartans. MSU has gone a mind blowing 12-1 both straight up and against the number over their last 13 games. While winning 12 of 13 is impressive, covering 12 of 13 is the stuff of legends. The Spartans boast a physical team that can also compete more than capably against a transition team. In the Big 10 tourney MSU trounced Ohio State 81-54 and then escaped with a 64-61 win over the enigmatic Terps of Maryland in their last outing as five-point favorites. That game was the first of 13 in which Michigan State failed to cover the number.

In their only meeting this season the Boilermakers eked out an 82-81 home victory over the Spartans. Purdue matches up well against MSU due in large part to their twin towers, seven-footers A.J. Hammons and Isaac Haas. Purdue makes every opponent pay when they get inside the paint and that wears on an opponent over the course of 40 minutes. While the public will no doubt be falling all over themselves to bet the Spartans as they have been showering more money than Jay Z makin' it rain at da klub, we can't help but side with the Boilermakers here who have already proven they can beat the Spartans and didn't have to battle Maryland to the final buzzer in their last time out.
