4 teams have a chance to win a share of the Big-Ten Championship.  Indiana gets a 2nd chance at winning it outright if they can knock off the Wolverines at the Crisler Center.

Time to turn the page as teams are playing their last game of the regular season in NCAA Basketball. Watch as we make an emphatic statement with our NCAA Picks of the Day as we look ahead towards the conference tournaments.

#2 Indiana (25-5, 13-4) at #7 Michigan (25-5, 12-5)

Indiana let their 1st opportunity slip away with a 67-58 loss to Ohio State. Now, they get to play against a Michigan team that they’ve already beaten this year.

Put Up Or Shut Up

This is Cody Zeller’s opportunity to possibly cement himself as the NCAA Player of the Year if he can come up big in a huge game. Zeller hasn’t quite lived up to the billing, but he’s had a very respectable season in leading the Hoosiers to their current number 2 status.

He’s averaging 16.5 points, 8 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, and 1.1 steals this season.  The last time that these two teams hooked up, Zeller was outstanding with 19 points and 10 rebounds on 8 of 10 shooting from the field. This is a big money player in which Michigan won’t have an answer for defensively. That said, Zeller has been prone to getting into foul trouble and the turnover bug. Indiana needs him to stay on the court as much as possible.

Indiana is also supported by guard Victor Oladipo and forward Christian Watford. Both players can score, rebound and are capable of big games. Both have been somewhat cold as of late. At least one of these players needs to step up in this game for Indiana to have a chance.

Right Where They Want Them

Michigan can control their own destiny in a place where they’ve been perfect all season. The Wolverines have had a few glitches like the loss to Penn State, but they’re in a good spot here as just a 1.5 point NCAAB betting odds favorite.

A Scoring Machine

Trey Burke has delivered all season for the Wolverines and he comes into this game playing well. He’s averaging 24 points per game in his last 5 games. Burke has scored in double figures in every game this season and although he shot poorly against Indiana in their prior meeting, he still managed to have 25 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds.

I like Michigan in this game. Home court advantage is huge. It also doesn’t hurt to have the best player in the game and the revenge factor.

NCAAB Pick: Michigan -1.5 at 5 Dimes

Northwestern (13-17, 4-13) at #10 Michigan State (23-7, 12-5)

Michigan State has a chance at a portion of the Big Ten Championship and what better way to finish off the regular season than against a bottom feeder like Northwestern. Northwestern is coming off of a loss to a pathetic Penn State squad and have lost 7 straight games.

Quite frankly, the only thing the the Wildcats have to play for is pride and right now their level of confidence is at an all-time low. If they had trouble against a team like Penn State, how will they fare against a team like Michigan State that is superior in talent and has everything to play for?

The Spartans are a 19.5 point favorite in this game and the betting total is listed at 121.5.

The Spartans have played 4 top 25 ranked teams in a row and have only one 1 game. They ended their losing streak by defeating Wisconsin, 58-43.

From Zero To Hero

Keith Appling was the goat in the Michigan game that committed the turnover that led to the loss but redeemed himself against Wisconsin with a 19 point performance. Expect him to play well against low level talent.

Michigan State isn’t a team that’s going to light the scoreboard up, but they’re a team with an outstanding defense and that’s what’s going to win them this game. Northwestern has problems putting points up on the the board to begin with (60.8 ppg). Look for the Spartans to put the Wildcats out of their misery as they cover the large spread.
