We're in store for another terrific Big East tournament, but our focus today is on Syracuse's second-round battle with Seton Hall. Check out why we're backing the chalk with our NCAA Basketball picks in this spot.

Odds Overview

As you'd expect, the Orange are heavily favored for this showdown inside Madison Square Garden.

At time of writing, Jim Boeheim's crew was favored by 12.5, while the total has been set at 124.5. The UNDER is 4-1 in Syracuse's last five contests overall and has also gone 7-3 in Seton Hall's past 10 neutral-site games.

Let SBR be your 2013 NCAA Tournament betting headquarters.

Syracuse Orange

An awful close to their season ruined any chances Syracuse had of earning a direct slot into the last eight. Instead, the Orange finished with a 11-7 conference record, good for the fifth seed in the tournament.

We say awful because Syracuse closed things out by losing four of their final five games, including two at home. They also went just 1-4 ATS in those five contests.

The season finale was about as bad as they come, as the Orange couldn't figure out Georgetown's defense in a 61-39 loss on the road. Many were expecting a close outcome, especially with the Orange picked as just two-point pups, but Boeheim's team shot 32.6 percent and hit just one three in the entire 40 minutes.

Hopefully for Syracuse fans, some problems were addressed in practice and we'll see more of a that team that beat the likes of Louisville, Notre Dame, Cincinnati,Villanova and Providence earlier in the year.

A win today would set the Orange up for a clash with fourth-seeded Pittsburgh in the quarter-finals of the tournament. It would take some type of miracle for that not to happen.

Seton Hall Pirates

Down by eight with just under three minutes remaining, the Pirates went on a 8-0 run to send the game into overtime, where they went on to win by four. Not often do you see an OT game that finishes with a 46-42 final score.#12th-seeded Seton Hall stirred up an incredible comeback in their first round win over South Florida

It was a horrendous display of shooting from both the Pirates and Bulls, but in the end Seton Hall did enough down the stretch. Fuquan Edwin led the way with 17 points and six rebounds and Gene Teague chipped in with 14 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks.

Fortunately for Seton Hall, South Florida was even worse on the offensive end. The Pirates held the Bulls to 24.2 percent shooting (16-of-66.....woah) and 19.2 percent (5-of-26) from three-point land.

Kudos to the Pirates for refusing to give in and showing composure in the closing minutes, but they're going to have to do much better offensively if they want to have any chance of avoiding a beatdown at the hands of Syracuse.

College Basketball Pick

The Orange have numerous guys who can get points on the board, so this could get out of hand quickly if Seton Hall isn't getting their shots to go down.

We saw first-hand just how anemic Seton Hall can be on the offensive end and there's just no way we feel confident in backing them to cover, regardless of how many points they're getting from College Basketball odds makers.

Syracuse has already beaten the Pirates by double-digits once this season (76-65 on the road) and we foresee it happening once more tonight in New York. Let's side with the favorites to cover this large number.
