Zoom into the SEC Conference Tournament for the best value NCAA Basketball picks today. We share our predictions and forecast for S. Carolina vs. Georgia.

SEC Conference Tourney: S. Carolina vs. Georgia (-3) 9:30 ET SEC TV: Nashville, TN
No. 11 seeded S. Carolina matches up with No. 4 seeded Georgia in this SEC College Conference Tournament game scheduled for 9:30 ET in Nashville, TN.  With 3 consecutive victories, the Gamecocks have punched their ticket for a post-season tournament, most probably the NIT.  In fact, they may now believe they can make a deep run into the SEC Tourney providing them an opportunity for an NCAA bid.  Georgia, who most probably has had their ticket scanned for NCAA participation, is motivated by double revenge following a pair of losses to S. Carolina in the regular season.  Those defeats include 64-58 in Athens on February 17th and 67-50 at Columbia on January 31st.  In each of those contests, S. Carolina “mucked up” the proceedings to win ugly.  Reviewing the statistical profile of S. Carolina in order to improve the accuracy of our NCAA Basketball Picks, we find that to be their M.O.  For this is a team who averages just 65 PPG on only 40% shooting from the field, less than 30% from behind the arc and turns the ball over 13 times per game.

That is exactly the way S. Carolina has won each of their preceding contests.  The Gamecocks closed the regular season with a 60-49 win at Tennessee, then defeated Missouri 63-54 in the First Round of this event.  Last night, S. Carolina survived (60-58) vs. Ole Miss, when Tyrone Johnson was fouled on a 3 point attempt with 0.7 seconds on the clock.  He confidently proceeded to ice all 3 foul shots for the victory.  In typical fashion, S. Carolina shot just 30% from the field and was outrebounded 44-33. Yet, they prevailed by allowing high-scoring Ole Miss to shoot just 30% as well and force 21 TOs.  Late in the 2nd half, the Gamecocks held the Rebels without a field goal for over 10 minutes.  Tonight, they will face a very hungry Georgia team, whom the NCAA basketball odds are favoring by 3 points.

The Bulldogs closed the season on a 4-1 SU ATS run, following their most recent loss to S. Carolina.  That included 3 road wins, boosting their road victory total to 8 wins on the season (compared to 2 SEC road wins for S. Carolina).  But, the Bulldogs’ season ending victory was a non-covering event as 6 point road chalk at Auburn.  It sets up a situation which has produced over 70% pointspread winners, including over 80% ATS, if our team is playing with revenge

With S. Carolina playing each of the last two nights, they have victories that will confirm their NIT selection.  Georgia has the advantage of 6 days’ rest and the motivation of double revenge, which will not be denied in this situation.
