Providence vs. Georgetown  8:00PM ET
In the 2 meetings last season, Providence emerged with victories of 3 points each occasion. This year, Providence is the superior team and will again emerge with a victory tonight at the Verizon Center.  Providence is 17-4 SU for the season, compared to 13-8 SU for the season for Georgetown. As BRD (Better Record Dog), they are worth the investment at this price.  Each team has 3 losses in league play.

Betting Preview
I give great respect to the Hoyas’ home court, the Verizon Center. They stand 50-11 SU on this court L3+Y. But, the Hoyas are only 8-4 SU at home this season, including losses to Radford, Monmouth and NC-Ashville. They were clearly fortunate to win here on Tuesday night, when they defeated Creighton (74-73), after trailing by 11 points in the final 2 minutes of play. That type of victory, on your home court in the previous game, spells psychological letdown for any team.

This bureau has been right on in handicapping the Providence Friars of late. Last Sunday, I released a top play victory on Providence in their (82-76) outright upset of Villanova. I backed it up by calling for the letdown just 2 nights later, when they faced a quality Xavier team, whom they trailed the entire 2nd half at the Dunkin Donuts Center in a (75-68) loss. Today, it is time for “the bounce” with 4 days to prepare and well alerted by their narrow victories last year and the Hoyas’ comeback win Tuesday night.  Providence has been one of the most resilient teams in the nation this season. They followed each of the previous 3 defeats with victories, including a win at Creighton and a victory vs. Butler.  When you have the best lead guard in the country in Dunn, it is easy to see why your team is a perfect 5-0 SU ATS on the road.  The 3 wins on the conference road this season lift the record of 5th year HC Cooley to 64-29 ATS in all conference road contests.

The situation, the fundamentals and the technicals all add up to make this an outstanding spot for the Providence Friars to get an outright victory over the Georgetown Hoyas Saturday night. I invite you to put the NCAA Basketball odds in your favor and join me in my NCAA Basketball pick on the Providence Friars this Saturdaynight.
