The No. 16 Pittsburgh Panthers have picked up steam in Big East Conference betting. Will the Panthers get their revenge in this rematch or can Marquette pull off another cover?

Big East Betting:  No. 16 Pittsburgh visits No. 18 Marquette

Jamie Dixon’s troops head west for Saturday afternoon’s duel with the Marquette Golden Eagles, who upset the Panthers as 10 ½-point road dogs in January’s 74-67 overtime win.

Panthers, Woodall rally past Cincy

Pittsburgh’s latest cashed ticket came in last Saturday’s 62-52 victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats, collecting as a one-point road dog. The Panthers held Cincinnati to a stingy mark of 30.8 percent field shooting, while outscoring the Bearcats in the second half, 36-21.

Panthers senior Tray Woodall drilled 4-of-6 buckets outside the arc, finishing with team-highs of 14 points and three assists. Pittsburgh’s Talib Zanna and Lamar Patterson united for 15 rebounds, while mate Steven Adams logged all four of his side’s blocks.

The battle’s combined 114 points ducked below the ‘total’ of 123 ½, extending the UNDER to 4-0 in the Panthers’ last four matchups. Pittsburgh shot 45.5 percent from the floor, while edging the Bearcats in boards, 29-28.

Eagles, Wilson fall to Hoyas

Marquette saw a two-game winning streak end with Monday’s 63-55 defeat as a five-point NCAAB odds underdog to the Georgetown Hoyas. The Golden Eagles logged 19 turnovers, while allowing a tight 38.5 percent night of field shooting.

Eagles forward Jamil Wilson led his squad’s scoring with 13 points, including a perfect 5-for-5 outing from the foul line. Marquette’s Junior Cadougan and Vander Blue grabbed five boards each, while Cadougan added three of his side’s six steals.

The duel’s combined 118 points slipped beneath the ‘total’ of 122, moving the UNDER to 4-1 in the Golden Eagles’ last five games. Blue was held to a 3-for-10 mark from the floor, while both squads united to drain 10-of-34 shots beyond the arc.

Back Marquette as a home dog opened Pittsburgh as a two-point road favorite, with initial wagers showing mixed action. The ‘total’ was first set at 124, followed by a drop to 123 after early NCAAB betting on the UNDER.

I am taking the short number here, adding a ticket on Marquette to my college basketball picks. Marquette connected from the floor at 47.9 percent in last month’s win at Pittsburgh and should keep finding the rims, putting up 77.7 PPG in their last three home dates.

The Golden Eagles have cashed at a 12-3-1 ATS clip in their last 16 spots that have followed defeats, while logging a 5-1 spread record in their last six home duels against foes with winning road records. Marquette’s Davante Gardner hit 6-of-6 field buckets against Pitt last month, while presently ranking as one of the Big East’s top four shooters (57 percent).

Pittsburgh is 1-2 ATS in its last three spots as a road favorite, held to 62.7 PPG in that span. Marquette cashed in this year’s sole matchup as a home dog, upsetting Wisconsin with a 60-50 victory.

Look for the Golden Eagles to hold serve on their floor again here, edging out the Panthers at the betting windows.
