Our very own college basketball analyst shares his top two underdog picks on Monday’s abbreviated card. Let us assist you in making a big profit today.

Iona Gaels vs. Siena Saints 7:00 PM ET
Iona has gone 6-1 SU&ATS during its last seven games, and that includes 4-0 SU&ATS during their previous four on the road. Ironically, their only defeat during its last seven came at home to Iona by a narrow 3 point margin. Despite Siena shooting a blistering hot 54.2% in that game, and making 55.0% of their three point attempts, Iona had a chance to win right up until the final horn. On some positive notes, Iona forced 23 Siena turnovers in that contest, and I look for the Gaels pressure defense to be a factor again tonight. Iona has also held opponents to a combined 37.4% shooting over its last five games. Siena will be hard pressed to be anywhere near the flawless shooting performance they displayed during their first encounter with Iona.

There’s a lot to like about Iona’s play in recent games. Revenge will be an underlying factor that can’t be ignored. Give me the road underdog in this contest for one of my Monday NCAA basketball picks.

Iowa State Cyclones vs. West Virginia Mountaineers 9:00 PM ET
Iowa State will be out to atone for an earlier 81-76 home loss to West Virginia. The Cyclones have been red-hot offensively in recent games. During its last four outings, Iowa State has averaged 87.5 points scored per game, and shot a very impressive 53.8%. They’ve also converted on a superb 41.9% of its three point attempts over the previous five games.

West Virginia has lost their last two, and three of its previous four games. Their only win in that sequence came against BIG-12 basement inhabitant TCU. The Mountaineers have shot the ball horribly during that four game stretch, connecting on just 38.7% of their field goal attempts. Even more concerning is the lack of effectiveness that their pressure defense has been able to generate of late. West Virginia has forced an average of 18 turnovers per game this season, and was able to force only 16 combined during its previous two outings. That’s not good news, considering Iowa State has committed an average of just 9 turnovers per game over their last four contests.

An element of basketball handicapping that often gets overlooked is free throw shooting. West Virginia has allowed opponents to average a very sizable 29 free throw attempts per game in BIG-12 Conference action. Conversely, Iowa State has gone a solid 73.2% from the charity stripe during conference play.

Current NCAA basketball odds provide me with a best combination of number and price for this specific wager.
