Our college basketball analyst shares his two top underdog picks on Wednesday’s card. He’s been a rock solid 8-4 with his underdog picks over the past five betting days.

Fordham Rams vs. Duquesne Dukes 7:00 PM ET
Early public wagering has shown an overwhelming support for the home favorite in this contest. All I can say in that regard, they’re much braver than me. After all, this is a Duquesne team which has lost their last seven games in a row. Included in that horrible stretch is a 0-4 SU&ATS record at home, and they lost those outings by 10.9 points per game. The Dukes shoddy defensive play of late has been their most glaring flaw. During its last five contests, Duquesne allowed 85.8 points per game while opponents shot 46.9%, and converted on a sizzling hot 43.9% of their three point attempts. In addition, over that same time frame, Duquesne’s opponents have been to the free throw line an alarming 29 times per game.

Fordham has a slight bit of momentum and confidence heading into this Atlantic 10 Conference matchup on Wednesday. They’ve won their last two and are 3-1 in its last four games. The Rams are also 2-2 straight up and 3-1 ATS during their previous four road games. Granted they haven’t faced top Atlantic 10 teams during that time frame, but they’ll have many more positives to draw from than today’s opponent can. Fordham also possesses an impressive +7.8 rebound per game differential over its last five contests.

Current NCAA basketball odds list Fordham as a 4.5 point favorite in this matchup. I’m going to fade the ice cold home favorite for one of my NCAA basketball picks on Wednesday.

Oregon State Beavers vs. USC Trojans 11:00 PM ET
After getting off to a 15-3 overall start, including 4-1 in PAC-12 action, USC has fallen from grace over the past month. Since that time, the Trojans are 4-7 straight up, 1-5 SU&ATS during its previous six, and 0-3 SU&ATS during their last three games. As a matter of fact, they lost those last three by a sizable average of 17.7 points per game. Playing defense has been an afterthought for the Trojans of late. During their last five outings, USC is allowing 81.8 points per game, and opponents have shot 49.0% while converting 38.3% of its three point attempts. In addition, they possess a terrible -6 rebound per game differential over those previous five contests.

Oregon State has won their last two and has gone 5-2 in its last seven games. In doing so, they’ve given themselves a realistic opportunity to attain a NCAA Tournament at-large bid. Considering they can become the first Beavers team in 26 years to achieve that accomplishment, their sense of urgency during these final two regular season games borders on desperation. However, you need to win the first game before you can come out on top twice. The Beavers clearly have an advantage in terms of momentum and confidence compared to tonight’s opponent. They also proved they can more than hold their own against USC. They defeated the Trojans in Corvallis already by a decisive 85-70 score, and that 15 point final margin isn’t indicative of how much they dominated in that contest.
