Oklahoma State is laying 2.5 points at most sportsbooks, though that line rises to 3 at some NCAA basketball betting sites. The total looks to be holding steady at 156.
On the year the Cowboys are 16-8 SU and 8-12 ATS, with Oklahoma at 18-7 SU and 12-10-1 against the spread.
After winning four games in a row, including a road victory over Baylor and a 88-76 winning effort at home over these Cowboys, the Sooners have come back down to earth by losing three of their last four.
Road setbacks at Iowa State (75-81) and West Virginia (86-91) were tough to take, but a 60-68 loss at home to Texas Tech was the worst of them all, especially since Oklahoma had crushed Baylor by 16 just four days earlier.
The loss to the Red Raiders was rough. The Sooners shot 42.1 percent overall and 22.2 percent (6-of-27) from beyond the arc, and Cameron Clark and Isaiah Cousins were the only two players to score in double figures.
Buddy Hield, who's had a killer year, had his worst game of the season in the loss, connecting on only 1-of-13 shots for three points. He had more turnovers (four) than points and assists combined (three).
One would have to think Hield will fare much better this afternoon, especially with the Cowboys playing very questionable defense as of late. Hield and the Sooners enter Saturday's contest with a 7-3-1 ATS mark in games away from Norman.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
The Cowboys have now lost five consecutive games, including two at home (Baylor and Iowa State) and three on the road (Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Texas).
Considering the hype surrounding this team in the early stages of the season, it's been remarkable to see this kind of collapse.
Oklahoma State have had ample time to practice and correct their mistakes after Tuesday's embarrassing 68-87 loss at Texas. Le'Bryan Nash had 23 points and six rebounds, Markel Brown went for 18 points and Kamari Murphy put up a solid double-double in the loss.
Obviously the loss of Michael Cobbins has been very detrimental, but now the Cowboys have had to try and contend without their best player on the floor. Marcus Smart will be serving the second game of his three-game suspension today.
With Smart out, Nash and Brown are going to have to keep doing the heavy lifting offensively, but the other cast of characters, including the likes of Murphy, Phil Forte and Brian Williams need to step up too.
College Basketball Pick
As bad as the Cowboys have been, especially without Smart and Cobbins on the court, this losing run has to come to an end eventually and we suspect it will be this afternoon.
For one, Oklahoma State is incredibly desperate right now and they're going to go the extra mile in order to get back on the winning side. It's been close to three weeks since they last tasted victory, and a desperate team is a dangerous team.
What's more, it's hardly as if the Sooners are playing great basketball right now. They're going through their own problems, so we think they're quite a bit of value in siding with the Cowboys in this situation. Back Oklahoma State in your NCAA basketball picks, who've gone 5-3 ATS at home this season, to win and cover.
