The North Carolina Tarheels have been pounding their opponents into the ground. Tonight, they face a formidable foe in the Oklahoma State Cowboys with star Jawun Evans. Is laying the juice the way to go as the challenge get's steeper?

No Chaminade Here...

We're going to stick with the teams that have been coming through for us and that means the talented North Carolina Tarheels after their 104-61 destruction of Chaminade. After facing mostly low-level competition, the Tarheels get a legitimate test in the Oklahoma State Cowboys. That said, UNC is still expected to win by double-digits. Will the Cowboys give the Heels a run for their money is the question in this game?

Oklahoma State hasn't faced a competitive team thus far, but they can only face who the schedule makers put out in front of them and so far, the Cowboys are undefeated.

Connecticut was expected to be their first test, but the Huskies got upset in their first two games of the season by low-level teams and are a mere 1-3 on the season. What would've been considered a quality win, simply isn't. A win against North Carolina would definitely be considered a quality win, especially at the end of the regular season when the seedings are determined for March Madness. We're getting a bit ahead of ourselves as the Cowboys are coming off of a 98-90 win over UConn.

Jawun Evans

Coming off of a 35 point performance against UConn, Evans has been outstanding in his sophomore season thus far. He's a player that basically can do it all. Evans is a very aggressive player that will force trips to the free throw line. He's also a player that can drain the 3-ball, dish the rock with precision, and play outstanding defense.

For the season, Evans is averaging 26.3 points, 6.3 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game. Evans already has 2 games this season in which he's had at least 5 steals. He should provide North Carolina's defense with a major test this is a player that can't be fully contained. Look for Evans to be up to the challenge.

Man in the Middle

Players on North Carolina are just not going to have the statline of a Juwan Evans as the starters playing time is limited due to early blowouts. One key important piece to the puzzle of success for the Tarheels is senior Kennedy Meeks. Meeks plays more like a center than a forward at 6 foot 10, 260 pounds, He's been dominating these easy opponents down low and looks for more of the same against Oklahoma State. Meeks played just 20 minutes against Chaminade but produced 20 points and 10 rebounds on a perfect 7 of 7 shooting from the field. Talk about efficiency!

Another player to keep an eye on is senior Isaiah Hicks. Hicks has been a force on the boards and near automatic from the field. In his last 2 games, he's 15 of 21 from the field and averaging 19 points and 5.5 rebounds. While Jawun Evans does scare me, the Tarheels as a team, are much more talented than the Cowboys. For my college basketball picks, I am going with the Tarheels.
