Oakland vs. Wright State 5:00PM ET
These teams met in Oakland previously this season with the Grizzlies’ high-powered offense romping to an (89-63) victory. This was not something new, as the Grizzlies beat Wright St. by counts of 84-76 and 76-67 (on this floor last season). Expect it to happen again based on the continuing fundamentals, the situation and Oakland’s incredible pointspread run. Each of these teams enters at 10-4 SU in league play. But, while Wright St. is 11-13 ATS for the season, Oakland is a nation’s best 17-5 ATS.

Wright St. has suffered in their matchup with Oakland because of the diverse offensive philosophy of the two. The Raiders are a defensive first team, allowing just 66/42/32. Twice this season, they have defeated conference leader, Valpo, by slowing the game to a crawl. Two nights ago, the Raiders, trailing by 6 with under 30 seconds, forced OT then beat Valpo for the 2nd time this year (61-59). But, when Valpo is forced out of their game plan, they are unable to keep pace with an offense that averages just 69 PPG. That is exactly what they face against the Golden Grizz.

32nd year HC Greg Kampe has seen his Oakland team be one of the greatest beneficiaries of the rule changes, which force the pace and open the game. His Grizzlies average 86 PPG on 46% shooting and 39% from the arc. They are able to lock out opponents by shooting 77% from the stripe (one of the best in the nation). Led by diminutive PG Felder, Oakland has gone 17-5 ATS this season, including 11-1 ATS on the road.  This includes 7-1 SU ATS since a loss on January 19th to N. Kentucky. Of course, you all by this time know about that lone loss. It was (93-85) at home to Wisc-Mil. Thus, the video!  But, Oakland bounced back in their own imitable style with Saturday’s (111-93) win against Green Bay. Oakland had 6 players in double figures with Felder leading the way with 28 points and 7 assists. They led by as many as 35 points with 7 minutes to go. They still shot 51% from the field, including 12 for 30 from behind the arc and 29/33 from the foul line.

With Wright St. off their stunning, emotionally draining victory against Valpo less than 48 hours earlier, combined with the scorching Oakland streak, I invite you put the NCAA Basketball odds in your favor and join me in my NCAA Basketball pick on Oakland.
