The Arizona Wildcats have dominated the NAU Lumberjacks in recent years, as the two in-state rivals prepare to face off Monday night. Where have we decided to place our NCAA Basketball Picks in tonight's matchup?

Let’s take a closer look at the NCAA basketball odds for this non-conference matchup at the McKale Center, with the opening tip scheduled for 10:00 p.m. ET on the Pac-12 Network.

Life on the road

NAU has compiled a 3-7 SU record to start the 2013-14 campaign, as it plays 10 of its first 13 games away from home.

The Lumberjacks have three players that average in double figures, with forward Max Jacobsen leading the way at 14.8 points a contest.  He’s the lone senior on the program’s current roster.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the team is 1-13 SU and 7-7 ATS as road underdogs of 12.5 or more points.

No. 1

The Arizona Wildcats will look to complete its non-conference schedule unscathed for a second-straight season, while it has become the first Pac-12 Conference team to land the No. 1 spot in the national rankings since Jan. 6, 2006.

The Wildcats have won their last 26 regular-season non-conference games, while they’ve compiled a 64-11 SU overall record at this venue under head coach Sean Miller.

Inexperience at every position

College basketball handicapper are going to have a hard time backing the road underdogs in this spot, considering that the Lumberjacks are receiving 68.3 percent of their scoring from newcomers.

Eleven of NAU’s 15 players had never suited up for the school before this season tipped off—one of the main reasons it was picked to finish seventh in the Big Sky Conference by the media during the preseason.

Series domination

The Wildcats have won the rebounding battle in all 12 of their games this season, which is one of the key reasons why they’ll likely win their 30th consecutive game in this series.

Arizona is certainly one of the top defensive teams in major college basketball, as it holds opponents to 37.2 percent shooting overall and 25.8 from beyond the arc.

Prediction

I'm going to recommend that readers back the Wildcats with their NCAA basketball picks, as they've gone 8-0 ATS in their last eight home games versus teams with a losing road record.
