With Duke out of the tournament, the field is wide open in the ACC. The Wolfpack and Hurricanes will do battle in the semi-finals in Greensboro and we've got our college basketball pick for the matchup ready.

Odds Overview

If you're interested in making a play on the Hurricanes with your sports picks, you can find them favored by 2.5 points at most books.

Let SBR be your 2013 NCAA Tournament betting headquarters.

NC State Wolfpack

Maybe the Wolfpack were just saving up for tournament time, because they sure look like a different team these days after a mildly disappointing regular season by their standards.

They've looked extremely good through the first two rounds of the tournament, winning out over Virginia Tech 80-63 and then taking care of Virginia (75-56) as well. Scott Wood's seven threes keyed the win over the Cavaliers.

Siding with NC State with your NCAA basketball picks has been profitable lately, with the Wolfpack having gone 5-1 ATS over their previous six overall. There's no doubt they're on a roll, but the Hurricanes aren't going to go down easy.

Miami (FL) Hurricanes

The tournament journey for the Hurricanes thus far has been relatively straightforward. They've beaten both Clemson and Boston College by double digits, though they needed second-half runs to get past both opponents.

Kenny Kadji had 15 points and 11 rebounds, Trey McKinney Jones added 12 points, but it was Shane Larkin that stole the show versus the Eagles. He had 20 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals and was a constant menace to Boston College.

The level of competition raises significantly though now, as BC and Clemson aren't close to being in the same league as the talented Wolfpack. When these teams met up in February, the Hurricanes squawked out a one-point win on the road.

College Basketball Pick

The public is sure to be all over the Hurricanes with this short number, but we like the chances of a NC State cover here.

Even with Lorenzo Brown struggling offensively (2-of-10 FG against the Cavaliers, the Wolfpack had no issues at all getting the win. Wood, C.J. Leslie and T.J Warren all had 17+ points and Leslie and Howell combined for 23 rebounds.

Simply put, the Wolfpack are peaking at the right time and are one of the few teams in the conference that match up extremely well with the Hurricanes. They have just as much experience and talent as Miami (FL), so we'll take the points in this college basketball betting matchup.
