Will the Maryland Terrapins add another cashed ticket in this rivalry or can the NC State Wolfpack cover as short dogs? Which of these ACC teams should you add to your NCAA Basketball picks tonight?

The No. 14 North Carolina State Wolfpack moved to a 4-3 spread record in their last seven games with Saturday’s 84-76 victory as a one-point home dog against the Duke Blue Devils. Wednesday’s College Basketball matchup report has Mark Gottfried’s troops visiting the Maryland Terrapins, who are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 meetings with N.C. State.

Wolfpack, Leslie lights up Duke

North Carolina State shot 50.8 percent from its floor in Saturday’s triumph over Duke, including a 4-for-8 mark from three-point land. Wolfpack forward C.J. Leslie notched a team-high 25 points, while adding two of his squad’s four blocks.

N.C. State’s Richard Howell and Lorenzo Brown both logged a double-double, uniting for 28 points. Howell added 18 rebounds, while Brown logged all 13 of his side’s assists.

The battle’s combined 160 points jumped above the ‘total’ of 149, bringing the OVER to 4-1 in N.C. State’s last five games. The Wolfpack sank 20-of-23 free throws, while edging Duke in boards, 33-31.

Terrapins shut down in Miami

Maryland logged a second straight loss in Sunday’s 54-47 defeat as a six-point road dog against the Miami Hurricanes. The Terrapins were held to 31.6 percent shooting from the floor, while outrebounding Miami, 42-37.

Terrapins center Alex Len notched 16 points and nine boards, hitting 6-of-13 field buckets. Maryland’s Dezmine Wells led his squad’s scoring with 18 points, while mate Nick Faust logged a pair of steals en route to two of his side’s four assists.

The duel’s combined 101 points plunged below the ‘total’ of 131, moving the UNDER to 3-1 in the Terrapins’ last four contests. Maryland allowed 34.9 percent field shooting from the Hurricanes, while both teams united for a sparse 13-of-31 night from the foul line.

Back the Terps at home

NCAA Basketball odds makers first opened Maryland as a 1 ½-point favorite, with early wagers on the Terrapins lifting the number a ‘hook’ to two. The ‘total’ was first set at 149, remaining unchanged in mixed betting action.

I am backing Maryland in this spot, adding the Terrapins to my NCAA basketball picks as short faves here. N.C. State is 0-4 ATS in its last four contests away from home, held to 68.8 PPG in that stretch.

The Wolfpack will have to contend with Maryland’s Alex Len, who ranks in the Atlantic Coast Conference’s top five in boards (8.3 RPG) and blocks (2.2 BPG). Maryland has held foes to 35.3 percent field shooting at home, while giving up a stingy 59.7 PPG.

The Terrapins have collected at a 9-3 ATS clip in their last 12 home dates, while having a chance to end N.C. State’s 10-game winning streak here. Maryland also comes in with revenge after being edged out in last January’s 79-74 road defeat to the Wolfpack.

Len notched a double-double for the Terps in that affair, including 11 rebounds. Look for the big man to have another solid outing here, helping Maryland end its losing skid.
