The Hawkeyes are out for revenge this afternoon when they entertain the Wolverines. Iowa is the favorite, but will they cover for our college basketball picks?

Odds Overview

The Hawkeyes are favored by anywhere from 4.5 to 5.5 points in the college basketball odds. It all depends on which sportsbook you check.

For now the O/U has been installed at 149, with the OVER having gone 13-7 in games involving Iowa and 10-9-1 in those featuring Michigan.

Michigan Wolverines

All things considered, the Wolverines have done extremely well in spite of being without star big man Mitch McGary. They sit at 17-5 SU and have also been solid against the spread, going 11-8-1 ATS.

It didn't go so well at Indiana last week (52-63), but Michigan got right back on the winning side with an easy 79-50 win over Nebraska at home.

A pretty comfortable victory was expected, with the Wolverines favored by 13 points ahead of tipoff, but it went even better than Wolverines fans could have imagined. They shot 50.0 percent as a team and hit 13 threes, while also going perfect (14-of-14) from the free throw line.

Glenn Robinson III led the way with 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting and added five rebounds and two steals. Caris LeVert came up with a 16/7/5 line and Zak Irvin scored 16 points off the bench.

Aside from that loss to Indiana, the Wolverines have fared well on the road this season, especially in conference play. They've beaten Minnesota, Wisconsin and even Michigan State, so they'll be feeling confident this afternoon.

Iowa Hawkeyes

Conference play hasn't been too kind to Iowa, as they've already lost four times, falling victim to Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State.

The latest loss came against the Buckeyes on Tuesday and it came at home. Mike Gesell scored 16 points and Gabriel Olaseni added 14 points off the bench in the loss.

However, Roy-Devyn Marble was held in check by Aaron Craft and that played a huge part in the Hawkeyes' lost. Marble, who leads the team with 16.0 PPG, had 10 points on 4-of-11 shooting and also contributed five rebounds, two assists and one steal, but he also turned it over four times.

Iowa knows they have to do better this time around in front of their faithful fans. They've gone 11-2 SU and 6-5 ATS on their own court, but don't really have a statement win to their name yet.

Could this be the one? Victories over the likes of Minnesota and Notre Dame have been nice, but they've fallen short against the two powerhouses in the Buckeyes and Spartans. You better believe this Iowa team has a thing or two to prove today.

College Basketball Pick

While Iowa has been solid at home, it's hard not to take the points in this college basketball betting matchup.

The Wolverines are playing some great basketball and have certainly figured out their identity. They've dealt with a lot of tough environments this season and that amount of experience should only help as they prepare for a difficult test from the wounded Hawkeyes.

Rarely do we see this Michigan team get blown out. So while they may lose straight up, we do think they'll battle hard and make this one come down to the wire. Back the talented Wolverines as underdogs in this situation for your free college basketball picks.
