The Miami (OH) RedHawks have lost nine consecutive games, as they prepare to take on the Bowling Green Falcons in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament.

Let’s take a closer look at the NCAA Basketball betting odds for this rivalry affair, with the opening tip scheduled for 7 p.m. ET at the Stroh Center.

RedHawks continue to fall short

Miami (OH) has dropped its last nine games, including a 58-54 defeat to the Ohio Bobcats as 16-point road underdogs last Saturday, while going UNDER the total for a fourth consecutive contest.

The RedHawks were 4-18 straight up (SU) and 10-11-1 against the spread (ATS) as underdogs during the 2012-13 college basketball regular season.

Inability to string together victories

Bowling Green will try to win back-to-back games for the first time since Feb. 2-6, as it comes off an impressive 76-65 victory over Buffalo as 2.5-point home favorites last Friday, while going OVER the posted total of 126.5.

College basketball handicappers may want to play against the Falcons if they move past the first round, considering they haven’t won three consecutive contests the entire year.

RedHawks have owned tournament meetings

Since the first tournament meeting between these two teams in 1982, the RedHawks have proven victorious in seven of eight games in that situation, which can’t be ignored when making your sports picks Monday.

It’s important to note that Miami (OH) is a disappointing 1-5 SU and 0-6 ATS in all tournament games the last two-plus seasons.

Playing great defense on this floor

The Falcons allow just 57.1 points on 41.4 percent shooting on their home floor this year, which has played a big part in putting together a 10-2 SU record when surrendering less than 60 points in any game this year.

Bowling Green earned a 52-44 victory over Miami (OH) as 6.5-point favorites at this venue on Feb. 27, while going UNDER the posted total of 129.5.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Falcons as one of their college basketball picks tonight, as the home team is 5-2-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in this series.

The RedHawks will likely be playing without the services of leading scorer Allen Roberts (knee), who is listed as out for the season on numerous injury reports, but is questionable according to the program itself.

Roberts scored 16 of the team’s 44 points in its last trip to Bowling Green.
