Will the Louisville Cardinals cover the NCAAB odds here or will the UConn Huskies find a way to stay close? Find out which team we have decided to back with our NCAA Basketball picks tonight.

The No. 3 Louisville Cardinals have logged a 6-3 spread record in their last nine games, while holding Big East foes to 52.7 PPG in the span’s latest three affairs. Monday’s college basketball matchup report has Rick Pitino’s squad heading north to face the Connecticut Huskies, who are 2-1 ATS in conference play.

Cardinals, Dieng crush South Florida

Louisville’s latest triumph came in Saturday’s 64-38 victory as 18 ½-point home ‘chalk’ against the South Florida Bulls. The Cardinals held South Florida to a sparse day of 26.7 percent field shooting, while sizably outrebounding the Bulls, 48-22.

Cardinals mates Gorgui Dieng and Chane Behanan united for 28 boards, with Dieng notching 12 points for his third straight double-double. Louisville’s Peyton Siva drilled 3-of-5 shots beyond the arc, finishing with a team-high 17 points.

The lopsided battle’s 102 points plunged below the ‘total’ of 124, moving the UNDER to 2-0 in the Cardinals’ last pair of games. Louisville sank 15-of-17 free throws, while Siva added three of his side’s 12 steals.

Huskies, Napier upset Irish

Connecticut picked up a second straight victory in Saturday’s 65-58 win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, cashing as an 8 ½-point road dog. The Huskies connected from the field at a 50.9 percent clip, outscoring Notre Dame in the second half, 65-58.

Huskies guard Shabazz Napier put up a team-high 19 points in 39 minutes of action, including a 3-for-5 day from three-point land. Connecticut’s DeAndre Daniels grabbed nine boards, leading his squad to outrebound the Fighting Irish, 30-22.

The duel’s combined 123 dipped below the ‘total’ of 135, ending a 2-0 OVER run in the Huskies’ first pair of Big East matchups. Napier united with mate Ryan Boatright for nine assists, with Boatright hitting 5-of-6 free throws en route to 14 points.

Back Louisville as road 'chalk'

NCAA Basketball odds boards opened Louisville as a 6 ½-point road favorite, while first listing the ‘total’ at 132. Early wagers on the Cardinals and OVER drove the numbers north to seven and 133, respectively.

I am adding Louisville to my NCAA Basketball betting selections tonight, looking for the Cardinals to pull away and add another sizable win to their streak. Pitino’s troops have cashed at 5-1 ATS in their last six meetings with UConn, while logging a 4-0-1 spread record in their last five road dates against the Huskies.

Louisville has piled in 78.3 PPG in its last six spots away from home, while holding Seton Hall to 58 points in the span’s most recent contest on Jan. 9. Dieng came away with team-highs of 16 points and 14 boards in that affair, while Cardinals freshman Montrezl Harrell found the rims at 7-of-9 from the field.

Siva ranks fourth in assists (5.8 APG) among Big East rivals, while he (2.3 SPG) and mate Russ Smith (2.4 SPG) are both in the conference’s top four for steals. Louisville has gone 15-5 ATS in its last 20 battles against rivals with winning records.

Look for the Cardinals to cash in for College Basketball bettors tonight, while looking to pour it on with a statement win after No. 1 Duke and No. 2 Michigan both saw their unbeaten marks end over the weekend.
