Will the Kansas Jayhawks bounce back with a big win in Fort Worth or will TCU stay close to end its skid? Read on to find out where we have decided to place our College Basketball picks in tonight's matchup.

The No. 5 Kansas Jayhawks saw an 18-game winning streak end with Saturday’s 85-80 setback to the Oklahoma State Cowboys, who pulled off the upset as 10 ½-point road dogs. Wednesday’s college basketball action has Kansas now traveling to meet the TCU Horned Frogs, who are on a 0-5 ATS slide.

Jayhawks, McLemore fall at home

The Kansas Jayhawks hit 9-of-20 buckets from three-point land in this weekend’s defeat, while edging out the Cowboys in boards, 38-37. Jayhawks guard Ben McLemore led his squad’s scoring with 23 points, uniting with mate Jeff Withey for five blocks.

Withey went on to grab a team-high eight rebounds, while finishing with 12 points. Kansas’ Elijah Johnson and Kevin Young logged six assists and four steals, respectively, with Johnson held to a 3-for-14 day from the floor.

The battle’s 165 points flew above the ‘total’ of 129, ending a 6-0 UNDER streak from the Jayhawks prior six games. Both sides combined to sink 40-of-52 free throws, while Kansas gave up 43.3 percent field shooting from the Cowboys.

Frogs, McKinney thrashed at Texas

TCU’s latest defeat came in Saturday’s 60-43 loss as an 11 ½-point road dog against the Texas Longhorns. The Horned Frogs were held to a 32.7 percent night from the floor, while connecting just 7-of-15 shots at the foul line.

Horned Frogs forward Adrick McKinney was his squad’s sole member to reach double figures, finishing with 13 points. TCU’s Connell Crossland logged a season-high 12 rebounds, while mate Kyan Anderson came away with three of his side’s seven assists.

The duel’s combined 103 points ducked below the ‘total’ of 111, moving the UNDER to 5-3 in the Horned Frogs’ last eight contests. TCU allowed Texas to connect a sizable 52.3 percent of its field buckets, with Crossland adding his squad’s sole block.

Back Kansas as big ‘chalk’ opened Kansas as an 18 ½-point road favorite, with the number staying unchanged in early mixed action. The ‘total’ was first set at 115, but initial wagers favored the OVER and have caused the NCAA Basketball odds to rise.

I am adding Kansas to my slate of sports picks for Wednesday, laying the big number as road ‘chalk.’  The Jayhawks have held foes to 54 PPG in their four road spots of Big 12 Conference play and drop in class even further with this matchup.

TCU’s five straight losses have been by a combined margin of 90 points, falling short in all spots as a double-digit dog.   The Horned Frogs rank last among the Big 12’s squads in scoring (54.1 PPG), while managing a subpar 40.7 percent field shooting on their home floor all year.

Kansas has two of the conference’s top three shooters in Travis Releford (61 percent) and Jeff Withey (55.5 percent), while McLemore ranks second in scoring (16.4 PPG). Withey is atop his rivals in blocks (4.2 BPG) and has added a sizable 8.3 RPG.

Look for the Jayhawks to put TCU well out of reach, adding another cashed ticket to Kansas’ 12-3-1 ATS mark in its last 16 games coming after a defeat.
