Arkansas will be challenged and the NCAA basketball odds indicate this fact. Check inside to see who we like for our NCAA basketball picks in this intriguing matchup.

Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday inside the Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Arkansas. According to NCAA Basketball odds, the Razorbacks are a 3.5 point betting favorite and the total for the game is listed at 151.5.

While the Zips come into this game with a tremendous amount of momentum, the Razorbacks have won 54 consecutive games against unranked non-conference opponents.

Experience Matters
The Zips are returning 3/4 of their team from last season and were on point where the 3-point shot is concerned, as they converted on 9.4 3-pointers per game last season. This would certainly help on the road in a hostile environment against Arkansas.

Center Pat Forsythe and Guard Noah Robotham were near the 10 point mark last season and both should have a major presence on this Akron team. It's only been two games thus far, but Forsythe is 2nd on the team in scoring at 10.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Senior Reggie McAdams leads the Zips in scoring at 11.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.

Thus far, McAdams has been almost automatic from the field. converting on 6 out of 9  from 3-point land and shooting 63.6% from the field. This is a great improvement from his junior season, but we must remember who Akron's last opponent was and not get too far ahead of ourselves as a divison III opponent is a far cry from the Arkansas Razorbacks of the SEC Conference.

One player to keep an eye on is 6 foot 10, 290 pounder center, Isaiah Johnson. Johnson padded his statistics against Hiram with 14 rebounds, but the Zips will need his rebounding presence for them to have a chance in this game.

Quick Out of the Gate
This is the time where good or respectable teams sometimes get cupcakes on their schedule and in game #1 of their 2015-2016, the Arkansas Razorbacks defeated the Southern Jaguars, 86-68. In this game, sophomore Moses Kingsley was a perfect 8 for 8 from the field with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Transfer Dusty Hannahs chipped in with 21 points. While these are very appealing numbers, I don't expect to see these type of numbers from either player as the schedule progresses, but Arkansas will surely take it.

Anthon Bell
Senior guard, Anthon Bell, is a returning player to focus on. He had a respectable season last year and had a 14 point performance in the Razorbacks opener. While Bell shot 50% from the field, the major drawback to his game is his shooting percentage. The question is: Will he crack the 40% mark from the field?

Regardless, every team needs players that look to score and if volume shooting is the only way to get the job done from this 6 foot 3 guard, then Arkansas will accept the results. This isn't a team that's a AP top 25 team, but Arkansas should be able to handle teams that are on the level of Akron. So, we'll take that into account for our NCAA Basketball picks.
