Great start

Georgia has opened up league play with a 2-0 SU record for the first time since the 2002 season, as it comes off a 66-58 victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide as 2.5-point home underdogs last Saturday.

The Bulldogs are wrapping up their most challenging portion of the 2013-14 schedule, as they’ll play away from home for the fourth time in five games.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the program is 0-6 SU and 2-4 ATS as road underdogs of 12.5 or more points.

Florida has won seven consecutive games, including an 84-82 overtime victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks as 3.5-point road underdogs last Saturday, while going OVER the betting total of 142.

The Gators have won six of eight games this season decided by a single-digit margin—after going 0-6 SU in such contests during the 2013-14 campaign.

The program is 17-1 SU and 13-5 ATS in January the last two-plus seasons.

Talented guard play

College basketball handicappers will have an interest in backing the road underdog in this affair, as the Bulldogs possess a talented backcourt in sophomores Kenny Gaines and Charles Mann, who are combining to score 26.3 points per game.

Mann is definitely the most important player on the roster—leading the program in points, assists and minutes played.

Home-court advantage

The Gators are going for their 25th consecutive home win, which would break the school record.

Florida has a good chance of accomplishing that feat, considering it has won 11 consecutive games in this series when playing in Gainesville.

It’s important to point out that the squad is 5-0 SU and 1-4 ATS as home favorites of 12.5 to 15 points the last two-plus seasons.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Gators for their free college basketball picks, as the home team has covered the number in eight of 10 meetings in this series.
