Tonight we look to two contests that promise to be big blowouts. Don't miss this betting preview for Wichita St. vs. Drake & North Carolina vs. Boston and get our best NCAA basketball picks.

Wichita St. (-19) vs. Drake
This year’s NCAA rule changes have led to massive blowouts such as what we have in these two contests tonight. The shortened shot clock increases the amount of possessions in a game, allowing favorites more opportunities to extend leads. With the grab and hold defenses a thing of the past, inferior teams are no longer able to muscle their opponents, allowing them full reign to attack the basket. The result has been a higher percentage of big favorites covering than in any year in recent memory.

Wichita St. and N. Carolina represent a pair of “conference bears,” each of whom is visiting a pair of towel tossers. The precedent has already been set for these blowouts. In the first meeting, Wichita cruised to a (67-47) win over Drake at the Roundhouse, as 18 point home favorite. Including that meeting back on December 31st, Wichita cruised to a 11-0 SU, 10-1 ATS start in MVC play. Six times, there were victories of 20 or more points. The extraordinary Wichita depth, easily extended leads in the 2nd half most nights and the Shockers began the conference season at 5-0 ATS as road chalk, running the record of 9th year HC Marshall to 42-17 ATS as road chalk L6Y. But, a mysterious thing happened on the way to this rematch at Drake on Tuesday night. The Shockers held their usual dominant lead early in the 2nd half at Illinois St, but instead of extending that to a 20 point win, the Shockers finally had the letdown. Illinois St. took advantage for a (58-53) upset win. Expect no mercy tonight, when the Shockers take the floor to visit a Drake team, who is 1-11 SU in  MVC play, 2-10 ATS including 0-6 ATS on their home court this season.

N. Carolina (-20) vs. Boston College
Playing at the same time as the Wichita St. game will be N. Carolina visiting Boston College. In much the same scenario, expect there to be NO MERCY. These two recently met in Chapel Hill with the Tar Heels recording a convincing win against the outmanned Eagles (89-62). The Eagles are the clear towel tosser of the ACC with an overall record of 7-16 SU and 3-14 ATS mark. They have lost 10 consecutive conference games and are 1-8 ATS in the league. Six of those conference losses have been by 20 or more points. Unfortunately for the Eagles, N. Carolina enters in an unforgiving mood. Following their 27 point destruction of Boston College on January 30th, the Tar Heels took to the road for a pair of games against Louisville and Notre Dame. Following the (71-65) loss to the Cardinals, it was widely expected that Tar Heels would bounce at Notre Dame. 13th year HC Roy Williams was 59-27 ATS following a loss, while coaching his Alma Mater. But, a dominant, double digit lead dissolved into a 9 point halftime lead and eventual (80-76) loss, as the ESPN Game Day Marquee Matchup of SaturdayNight. If you think there will be any mercy this evening, you are sadly mistaken!
