Will the Clemson Tigers cash again here or will they be outclassed in by the Duke Blue Devils in Durham? Find out where we are placing our NCAA Basketball picks in tonight's ACC clash.

The No.1 Duke Blue Devils reeled off a seventh straight double-digit win with Saturday’s 80-62 triumph over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, remaining unbeaten for the season. Tuesday’s college basketball matchup slate has Mike Krzyzewski’s squad hosting the Clemson Tigers, who have a 5-0 spread record in their five spots away from home.

Blue Devils, Plumlee surge past Wake

Duke drained 11-of-24 shots from three-point land against Wake Forest, while falling short of cashing as a 22 ½-point home favorite. Blue Devils mates Seth Curry and Ryan Kelly piled in 22 points each, while adding a combined seven boards.

Duke’s Mason Plumlee notched his sixth double-double in eight games, finishing with 13 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. The Blue Devils sank 11-of-22 free throws, while holding Wake Forest to 41.1 percent shooting.

The lopsided battle’s combined 142 points landed a ‘hook’ below the closing ‘total’ of 142 ½, bringing the UNDER to 4-1 in Duke’s last five games. Blue Devils guard Quinn Cook logged 14 of his side’s 22 assists, while held scoreless in 38 minutes of action.

Tigers, Booker fall short at home

Clemson saw a two-game winning streak snapped with Saturday’s 71-66 setback as 3 ½-point home ‘chalk’ against the Florida State Seminoles. The Tigers fell behind at halftime, 38-25, while held to a 38.9 percent mark from the floor.

Tigers forward Devin Booker logged a season-high 19 points, while adding 11 boards. Clemson’s Milton Jennings and Jordan Roper united to drill 5-of-11 buckets outside the arc, combining for 21 points.

The contest’s 137 points jumped OVER the ‘total’ of 128, with Clemson allowing Florida State to hit 47.2 percent of its field buckets. Tigers guard Rod Hall notched team-highs of three assists and four of his squad’s 10 steals.

Back the Blue Devils at home

The NCAA Basketball odds at opened Duke as an 18-point home favorite, while first setting the ‘total’ at 129. Early betting action on Clemson and the OVER moved the numbers to 17 and 129 ½, respectively.

I am laying the double digits here with the Blue Devils as part of my day’s NCAA Basketball picks tonight, looking for Plumlee and Co. to run it up in this spot. Duke is 3-1 ATS in its last four meetings with the Tigers, holding Clemson to 56.2 PPG in that stretch.

The Blue Devils have shot 49.1 percent from the floor at home, while piling in 82.1 PPG. Duke leads the Atlantic Coast Conference in three-point shooting (42.1 percent), with Clemson ranking a lowly 10th at a 32.7 percent clip.

Duke’s Mason Plumlee (18.4 PPG) and Seth Curry (16.6 PPG)  rank as two of the ACC’s top three scorers, with Plumlee leading in boards with 11.3 RPG. Curry went 3-for-6 beyond the arc in last March’s 70-59 home victory for Duke over Clemson, while uniting with Plumlee to hit 7-of-8 free throws.

Clemson has had success at the betting windows away from home, but steps up in class here. The Tigers have a 2-6 spread record in their last eight matchups against squads with winning records.

Look for Duke to hand Clemson another losing ticket here, extending the Tigers’ 0-5 ATS skid in their last five contests with ACC foes.
