The Ducks are firm favorites for this home clash. Sportsbooks are giving away eight points to BYU.
The O/U is nearing the level of an NBA game, but that's testament to how efficient these offenses have proven to be. The OVER has gone 7-1 in Oregon's games so far, but the UNDER is actually 6-2 in matchups involving the Cougars.
It's been a full week since we last saw the Cougars in action. They were outmatched entirely in a 81-64 road loss to Utah, despite coming in as two-point favorites.
The shots just weren't falling at all for BYU. They shot 32.8 percent overall and 26.3 percent from three, a far cry from their season averages.
Tyler Haws had 14 points (3-of-11 FG) and six rebounds, while Matt Carlino shot only 3-of-15 from the floor for seven points. Eric Mika had a solid game inside, recording 12 points (5-of-10 FG) and 10 rebounds.
It's hard to imagine BYU struggling like that again on the offensive end.
This season, the Cougars are averaging 89.0 points per game while shooting 46.9 percent overall and 39.9 percent from three. They're rebounding at a good level (40.6 per game) as well, though they've struggled (67.3 percent) from the free throw line.
There hasn't been much to complain about if you're an Oregon fan. They've still yet to lose and have done enough to earn the #13 ranking in the AP poll.
Three days after a nice neutral-site win over Illinois (71-64), the Ducks stormed past UC Irvine in a 91-63 win.
This one was out of hand early, meaning Dana Altman had the luxury of getting a huge part of his rotation involved. Joseph Young had 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting in 24 minutes, while Mike Moser, Damyean Dotson and Jason Calliste all scored in double figures as well.
The Ducks were just boosted by the returns of Dominic Artis and Ben Carter after they finished serving their suspensions.
Artis had five points and eight assists in 26 minutes, while Carter put up four points, four rebounds and three assists. The rich get richer in Eugene and Oregon's improved depth is going to make them a truly formidable foe for any opponent going forward.
College Basketball Pick
Not only are the Ducks unbeaten, they've been pretty darn good for backers as well. They're a splendid 8-0-1 ATS, a far better haul than what BYU (3-6 ATS) has been able to accomplish in that department.
We should be in for quite the shootout tonight, as these are two of the most prolific offenses you're going to see in college basketball this year. Oregon is the favorite in the NCAA basketball odds, but BYU is feisty, well-coached team that's not going to be easy to beat.
Where should we go with our NCAA basketball picks? We're actually liking the points that come with the Cougars. They've had ample time to practice and come up with a game-plan for this trip and they have the offensive ability to stay close to the unbeaten Ducks.
