The Wolverines are double-digit favorites for their home game against the Hoosiers this evening. Where should we go with our college basketball picks?
Depending on the sportsbook, Michigan is either a 10 or 10.5-point favorite in the college basketball betting odds. The Wolverines are 22-7 SU and 15-11-1 ATS on the season, with Indiana at 17-13 SU and 14-14-1 against the spread.
The total for tonight's game has settled in and around 137. Check out the freshly updated lines leading up until tipoff at SBRodds.com.
Indiana's up-and-down season continues, as they followed consecutive home wins over Ohio State and Iowa with a 60-70 loss to Nebraska on Wednesday.
The Hoosiers really struggled to get anything going offensively, with the absence of Noah Vonleh shining through. Indiana shot 36.7 percent from the floor overall and 23.8 percent from beyond the arc in the loss.
Yogi Ferrell tried to carry the load but hit on only 1-of-10 from three – he ended up with 10 points to go along with eight rebounds and five assists. Troy Williams (18 points and six boards) had a nice game, with Will Sheehey adding 13 points.
The Hoosiers could again be without star Vonleh tonight, who has now missed two straight games with a foot injury. It would be an even taller task for Indiana if he can't go, as he's averaging 11.6 PPG and 9.1 RPG on the year and has been growing leaps and bounds.
Who will step up if Vonleh is unavailable again? Ferrell might have to have the performance of his short college career to even keep Indiana within striking distance.
One of the hottest teams in the Big Ten right now is Michigan. They've reeled off four straight wins straight up and have covered the spread in three of those victories.
Home wins over Michigan State (79-70) and Minnesota (66-56) and road victories over Illinois (84-53) and Purdue (77-76) should have the Wolverines feeling very confident about their chances against a young Indiana team.
It was domination right from the start against the Fighting Illini. Michigan raced out to a 52-30 lead at halftime and never looked back. They shot an impressive 56.9 percent overall and put on quite the display (16-of-23) from three-point range.
Nik Stauskas made quick work of Illinois, hitting 8-of-11 shots, including 7-of-9 from three) on his way to a game-high 24 points. Caris LeVert and Glenn Robinson III combined for 28 points, while Derrick Walton did a little of everything with nine points, seven rebounds and five assists.
John Beilein will be hoping to see similar offensive fireworks out of his guys against the Hoosiers. He'll like his team's chances, with Michigan having lost just two times this season.
College Basketball Pick
Revenge is on Michigan's mind.
The Wolverines were beaten by 11 in the first head-to-head meeting last month, though we see them getting their retribution back in Ann Arbor.
Michigan, who have gone 9-3 ATS on their home floor this season, is playing great basketball right now and we look for them to carry over that momentum into tonight. Indiana has been bad on the road (2-7 SU) and this sets up as another tough spot for them.
It's a lot of points to lay, but we're confident in a big Wolverines win and subsequent ATS cover for our college basketball picks.
