Virginia Tech travels to Chestnut Hill where they will meet division doormat Boston College. See who is our NCAA Basketball Pick in this ACC matchup.

Virginia Tech (-6-) vs. Boston College 9:00 PM EST
In that lone meeting of the year, Boston College won 66-59 in Blacksburg. You can be assured that second year Virginia Tech HC Buzz Williams does not want to lose two years in a row to this division doormat, who is 0-14 SU, 3-11 ATS in ACC play.

Earlier this month, the rebuilding Boston College Eagles (with just one returning starter from last year’s 13-19 SU team) made our list as both a “Towel Tosser” and as an “Offensive Oaf”. Having defeated Virginia Tech last year, there will not be the huge emotion the Eagles used when they nearly stunned North Carolina on this court two weeks ago. Nor will they have the offensive ability to stay competitive with an ACC foe.

You see, Boston College averages only 61 PPG, shoots only 41% from the field, 33% from the arc, and converts less than 10 foul shots per game at a 66% clip. There are negatives in the all-important categories of rebound margin, assist/TO margin, and TO margin. In short, this team has little going for them. Their Towel Tossing role was on full display on Sunday when they lost 74-48 at Wake Forest. That was the 13th time in 14 ACC games that the BC Eagles lost by 10 or more points in an ACC game. I see no reason why that will not happen again today vs Virginia Tech. By the way, don't forget to check out tonight's top underdog plays.

Betting Analysis
You won’t see the name “Virginia Tech” on any of the Bubble lists this CBKB season. But they are arguably the most improved team in the league. Under former Marquette mentor, second year HC Buzz Williams has turned around this team. Last year, the Hokies were 11-22 SU for the season, just 2-16 SU in ACC play. This year, VA Tech is 14-13 SU, with 6 wins already in ACC play, and a 10-4 ATS mark against ACC foes. Their Conference road schedule has been brutal, with games against Duke, Notre Dame, Pitt, Syracuse, Virginia, and Miami Fla.

In their only game against a more competitive foe, the Hokies posted a 78-77 victory at Georgia Tech. At 14-13 SU for the season, this victory is an absolute must if Tech has hopes of receiving a bid to one of the lesser post season tournaments (hopefully the NIT). Williams has done a fantastic job integrating transfers, such as Zach LeDay, with his three returning starters, and made this a team that was competitive enough to already defeat NC St, Virginia, Wake Forest, Clemson, and Florida St. Getting the best of the league’s Towel Tosser should not be a problem. I invite you to put the NCAA basketball odds boards in your favor and join me in my NCAA basketball picks selection on Virginia Tech.
