As far as big matchups go this would be one of them when the Arizona Wildcats visit the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Check our free NCAA basketball pick inside.

Betting Odds
NCAA basketball odds have come out making Gonzaga a solid -7 favorite. This may seem surprising to a lot of people, but for one of my selections I will take Gonzaga who play extremely well at home. Arizona signed some solid talent in the off-season but Gonzaga returns some solid contributors.

Arizona Wildcats
Arizona is averaging 75.1 point per game, shooting 45.5% of the field, and 28.1% from beyond the arc. That three point shooting statistic is a little bit worrisome and although they are 6-1 on the season they might not be as good as predicted. They lost for starters from last year's Elite Eight team but they signed an impressive freshman class and Boston College transfer Ryan Anderson has been outstanding averaging a double double at power forward. It seems head coach Sean Miller is still feeling things out though and he has gone really deep into his bench this early in the season. As the season continues I'm sure he will find the right rotations because the talent is there.

Arizona is allowing 62.9 points per game, 41.2% shooting from the field, and 29.6% from beyond the arc. Coach Miller has been adept at getting his team to play great defense and they led the PAC 12 in points allowed per possession last season. It's kind of a sagging zone that some teams have difficulty adjusting to, but Gonzaga has three solid inside players which is what you need against this type of defense.

Gonzaga Bulldogs
Gonzaga is averaging 79.2 points per game, 49.7% shooting from the field, and 37.8% from beyond the arc. As mentioned, they return their frontline but it's the backcourt that might have some issues, so far this season though point guard Josh Perkins and shooting guard Silas Melson have played well. They faced some tough competition so far this season losing by one to Texas A&M and then beating Connecticut, a very good team, by three points. With Mark Few at the helm you know this team is going to put up points and trying get up and down the floor. There should be no surprises today against an Arizona team in which they lost to last year at Arizona in overtime.

Defensively Gonzalez has allowed 60.7 points per game, 35.6% shooting from the field, and 21.3% from beyond the arc. Those are extremely impressive numbers and they rank first in the country in opponent three point field-goal percentage. That might not be such a big deal against an Arizona team that will try to match up more and score on the interior then beyond the arc. Still, in the paint I'm going to lean to the Bulldogs, albeit slightly, to make things very difficult for Arizona.

This seems like a pretty big number against arguably talent wise the best team in the PAC 12. Gonzaga though is loaded as well, and at home they are extremely tough. For one of your NCAA basketball picks don't let the odds makers throw you off with this pretty big number and go ahead and back Gonzaga. Look for the Bulldogs to be extremely fired up, make things difficult for Arizona, and win this game by double digits.
