Colorado vs. Oregon 9:00PM ET
A common theme running through my selections this week has been the games that are based on 2 articles that I authored earlier this week. The first was on the towel tossers of college basketball, a group of teams who, by the beginning of February, realized they had no hopes for post-season play. In short, they have resigned themselves to their cellar dweller status and often tossed the towel when trailing in the game. The second article dealt with undefeated home courts and the ways in which we can use those to our benefit in late-season play. The latter of the 2 articles is the basis for this selection.

The Colorado Buffalos travel to Eugene to face the Oregon Ducks at one of the more up-scale athletic centers in the nation as funded by Nike. It is little wonder that road teams have fared poorly on this court, as they are unable to “see the forest for the trees” (tune in tonight to check out this court and see exactly what I mean). The game is scheduled for a 9:00 ET tip.

Colorado suffered an injury plagued season last year and had a team that lacked cohesion and chemistry. After winning 21 or more games the previous 4 seasons, the Buffs dropped to 16-18 SU last year. With 4 returning starters and the strong coaching of 6th year HC Boyle, the bounce back was imminent with this now experienced team. True to expectations, the Buffs have bounced. Colorado now stands 17-5 SU, 13-6 ATS for the season, including 6-3 SU ATS in PAC 12 play. They enter tonight on runs of 5-1 SU ATS and 3-0 SU ATS. But 4 of those victories have come on the strong home court of the Coors Centre. On the road, the Buffs can be beat, as indicated by double digit losses at California and Washington in PAC 12 play. Now, they must travel to what is quickly becoming one of the strongest venues on the West Coast.

Under 6th year HC Altman, his Ducks are now 62-7 SU 3+ Y, including an undefeated 13-0 SU this season. That has translated to a neat 9-1 ATS on this court. Oregon enters tonight playing their best ball of the season on a 7-1 SU ATS run, including 4-0 SU ATS recently. The  only loss in that timeframe was to Colorado team in Boulder by a count of 91-87.  Now, the Ducks get a chance to get their revenge on an undefeated court with great momentum. Momentum has been the name of the game for Oregon under Altman. In fact, his teams are 54-25 ATS, including 9-2 ATS this year, if his team beat the spread in its previous game.

With an undefeated home court, revenge as the motive and momentum confirmed, I invite you to put the NCAA basketball odds in your favor and join me in my NCAA basketball pick on Oregon tonight.
