Ohio State Buckeyes
The Buckeyes are on a roll and have been since the third week in February. They've won ten straight games, a run that includes victories over Michigan State (twice), Indiana and Wisconsin.
Ohio State stormed through the competition in the Big Ten tournament, baeting the Badgers in the championsip game. They've carried over the momentum into the NCAA tournament.
The first round was no trouble at all, with the Buckeyes demolishing Iona 95-70. Deshaun Thomas had 24 points, Sam Thompson had 20, and Ohio State shot 47.9 percent overall and 46.7 percent (7-of-15) from beyond the arc.
Against Iowa State, the Buckeyes were even more efficient at 51.0 percent overall and 50.0 percent from three in a 78-75 victory. Thomas scored 22 points and grabbed five rebounds and Aaron Craft contributed 18 points and six assists.
The Buckeyes didn't cover in the W over the Cyclones, but they're still a very profitable 6-1 ATS over their previous seven contests.
A poor showing in the Pac-12 tournament hasn't fazed the Wildcats, whom have won each of their first two tournament games by at least 17 points.
First they beat up on Belmont in a 81-64 win, with Mark Lyons dropping a game-high 23 points. Nick Johnson, Kevin Parrom and Kaleb Tarczewski all scored in double figures too.
A couple days later and Arizona was right back at it, dominating Harvard from start to finish and winning 74-51 as 10.5-point favorites.
Lyons was at it again. He scored 27 points on 12-of-17 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from three-point range. Solomon Hill chipped in with a 13-point/10-rebound double-double, as Arizona made 55.1 percent of their shots, while holding Harvard to 27.6 percent shooting.
The Wildcats have now cashed in four of their last five – can they keep the run going by giving Ohio State a run for their money?
College Basketball Pick
Consistency is a factor we like to take into consideration when narrowing down our college basketball picks. It's hard for us to fully trust Arizona here despite how good they've looked, as they have shown a tendency to disappear at important times.
Ohio State has been the far more consistent team and you know they're always going to bring a good effort on the defensive end. Craft is one of the best on-ball defenders around and is going to do everything in his power to make life difficult for Lyons. Meanwhile, Thomas has been making shots at a very high rate and his quick trigger should allow him some more good looks against Arizona.
The Buckeyes have gone undefeated in neutral-site situations this season and we don't foresee that changing. We're going with Ohio State to win straight up and against the spread.
