#2 Duke vs. #15 Albany
The Blue Devils are favored by 17.5 points at most books, but you can also find a spread of 18 at certain college basketball betting sites.
Want to get in on some action on the total? The O/U is at 132.5 right now – the UNDER is 4-0 in Albany's last four games overall and is 5-2 in Duke's past seven neutral-site contests.
Duke Blue Devils
It wasn't meant to be for the Blue Devils in the ACC tournament, as they ran into a red-hot Maryland team and lost 83-74 in the quarter-finals.
The loss was enough to knock Duke off as a potential number one seed. Instead they're a two and have been placed in arguably the most difficult region in the Big Dance.
To get to Atlanta, Blue Devils will have to beat either Creighton or Cincinnati in the next round and ten could play both Michigan State and Louisville. One thing's for sure: if Duke wins the national title this season, they'll have certainly earned it.
The Blue Devils' body of work has been impressive though, and their top-notch strength of schedule should serve them well in the tournament. They've played a number of great programs and will be prepared.
Mason Plumlee will be the focal point inside for Duke and Ryan Kelly and Quinn Cook have also been integral to the team, but Seth Curry is the one to watch. He'll try to follow in his older brother's footsteps and make some serious noise in March Madness.
Albany Great Danes
Don't know too much about the Great Danes? Don't worry, you're not alone. Albany finished with a 24-10 overall record and 9-7 conference mark.
Closing out the season with three straight wins, the Great Danes saved their best performance for last. They went into Vermont and won 53-49 to get an automatic bid from the America East tournament – it's the first time Albany has gone dancing since 2007.
Mike Black is the leader of the team and has been a calming presence in the backcourt. He put up 15.0 PPG, with Jacob Iati the only other Great Dane to score in double figures.
Considering Albany has only averaged 58.0 points per game over their last five, we're not too sure how they'll be able to keep pace with Duke's prolific offensive production.
The only ranked team the Great Danes played this season was Ohio State and they lost by 22. Their best win came on the road versus Washington back in November.
College Basketball Pick
Coach K was presumably livid with his team's showing against Maryland and we think he'll have his Blue Devils ready to pouce on Albany in the opening round.
We're never too thrilled with laying such a big number, but Duke should stroll to a win here.
As for your sports picks, the Blue Devils should be your pick, or you should simply stay away and focus on a play on the total. Duke has done well in bounce-back situations this season – they're 10-4 ATS in their past 14 following an ATS defeat – so look for them to come out and set the tone early in what could turn into a rout early.
