With no NBA for a couple days, we take a gander at what might be betting odds for college basketball props for Tuesday. Of course sportsbooks always release the TV games first on these.

This is to accommodate those who like the thrill of having skin in the game when watching and prop wagers can be part of the added excitement if used wisely and not going overboard.

For this evening, we have looked over the NCAA basketball odds on various prop possibilities and here is what we are forecasting.

Vanderbilt vs. Mississippi State - First Half Wager
The early line on the first half of this SEC showdown has Vanderbilt as 1.5-point away favorite. The Commodores have been a disappointment this season at 15-10 and realistically have to win at least five of remaining six contests to get into NCAA tournament conversation. The biggest issue for Vandy has been sustaining, as they have had too many scoring droughts and defensive lapses for a team considered at SEC contender back in November. Vanderbilt has been improved recently and is 13-4 ATS in the first half of games when favored and has covered four of these in a row. In addition, Vandy is a dandy 6-0 ATS against the first half line after scoring 75 points or more in three straight games the last three seasons.

Prop Play: Vanderbilt  -1.5 First Half Line

Iowa State vs. Baylor - Baylor Over/Under 80.5
Having scored 94 points at Iowa State in Jan.9th meeting, the natural inclination is to support Baylor again for a higher score now playing at home. It is not like Iowa State is renowned for defense, right? Though I have enough trends to even make Kanye West quiet down, when looking at the Bears last four Waco contests against the Cyclones, they have averaged 77.2 points a game. We are not talking overwhelming evidence like the FX channel's O.J. Simpson trial series, but have taken notice Iowa State has held opposing teams to 72.1 PPG on the road off a 10 or more points home triumph.

Prop Play: Baylor Under 80.5 points

West Virginia vs. Texas - Jaysean Paige (West Virginia) Over/Under 16 Total Points (-120)
Paige is the Mountaineers leading scorer at 14 points a contest and he been in a bit of shooting slump of late, converting on 8 of 26, compared to 48.7 percent on the season. With West Virginia playing into revenge for earlier home loss to the Longhorns, in which Paige was 2 for 12 with four total points, I see him and his teammates ready to play from opening tip and being more aggressive. If Paige plays to ability can reach 16 points, I like the fact he has made 11 of past 12 free throws, which should put him over the edge for NCAA basketball picks.

Prop Play: Paige Over 16 points

Northwestern vs. Purdue- First Team to 20 Points
In Northwestern's last four Big Ten road contests, they have averaged a mere 61.7 PPG and lost all of them. Purdue has been shaky of late, but at West Lafayette they have started fast in winning five of last six and even the lone setback to Iowa back on Jan. 2nd, they got off to huge lead before second half collapse. Coming off another dismal second half showing in losing at Michigan on Saturday, coach Matt Painter has the troops ready to play against meek Wildcats crew and they reach 20 points first with a five or six point lead.

Prop Play: Purdue First Team to 20 points
