Duke and Notre Dame are both incredibly efficient on the offensive end, which will lead to a high-scoring affair in this ACC matchup Wednesday night.

Historic
Mike Krzyzewski became the first coach in Division I men’s basketball history to record 1,000 career victories with Duke’s 77-68 win over St. John’s as seven-point road favorites Sunday, which is important to consider when making your NCAA basketball picks as he looks to continue dominating this series.

The Blue Devils have won 12 of 14 meetings against the Fighting Irish with Coach K on the sidelines, while he’s compiled a dominating 19-1 SU record  versus former assistants, including a 2-1 mark versus Mike Brey.

It’s also important to point out that the program has captured 41 of its past 62 games when featured in a matchup with both teams ranked among the top 10 nationally.

Welcome Home
Notre Dame has won four games in a row, which can’t be ignored when looking over the NCAA basketball odds lines, as three of those victories came away from the Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center.

The Fighting Irish have captured five of their last six home games against AP Top 10 opponents, but it dropped a 62-56 decision against Virginia as two-point underdogs in that situation on Jan. 10.

During Brey’s time in South Bend, the squad has put together a 13-7 SU record in that particular role overall.

Sports bettors will find that the school is 0-2 SUATS as home underdogs of three or fewer points since the start of the 2012-13 campaign.

Dominant
The Blue Devils have won all three of their games against ranked opponents this season—made possible by shooting 56.1 percent from the field overall.

Jahlil Okafor is the main player to handicap in this affair, as he’s scored in double figures in 19 straight games, while knocking down 22-of-28 shots from the floor when taking on top 25 foes.

Efficient
The Fighting Irish lead all teams nationally in offensive efficiency—four sports ahead of the Blue Devils in that all-important statistical category.

Notre Dame has four of five starters averaging 13.4-plus points per game, with guard Jerian Grant leading the way at 17.1, while also leading the group in dishing out 6.2 assists a contest.

Grant was recently named ACC Player of the Week on Monday—averaging 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals in helping to post road wins over Virginia Tech and NC State.

Prediction
I’m going to recommend that readers play the total as one of their ACC basketball picks, as the OVER is 9-3 in the Fighting Irish’ last 12 opportunities.
