The Virginia Cavaliers and the Ohio State Buckeyes are both undefeated after six games, but the Cavs are 10.5-point home favorites on Wednesday's NCAAB odds board.

Record: 1-1 Totals

What's this? The UNDER is still crushing the NCAA basketball odds? As we go to press, the UNDER is sailing along at 334-248 (57.4 percent) to start the new season, up from 56.9 percent when we last checked in. Grandmothers would trample each other like a Black Friday sale to get 57.4 percent. We certainly hope you've enjoyed a piece of this action; who knows how long it will take for the betting market to adjust, or for these players to start hitting some buckets.

In the meantime, the ACC/Big Ten Challenge is underway, and the No. 6 Virginia Cavaliers (6-0 SU, 3-1 ATS) will be hosting the Ohio State Buckeyes (6-0 SU, 2-3 ATS) this Wednesday, starting at 9:15 p.m. Eastern on ESPN2. The Cavaliers are favored by 10.5 points, but unless we can find a very good reason to bet the spread, we'll be looking at that 120.5-point total on the NCAA basketball odds board.

Slow Children Playing

That spread does look rather tight already. Ken Pomeroy has Virginia ranked No. 2 overall (No. 10 offense, No. 1 defense) in Division I, with an adjusted efficiency margin of +29.27; Ohio State is down the list at No. 21 (No. 34 offense, No. 14 defense), with an efficiency margin of +19.06. That's a difference of... let's see, carry the one... 10.21 points. Yup, tight as a tiger.

We don't have the same tools at our disposal to look at the total, but the Cavaliers have the UNDER at 4-0 this year, and the Buckeyes have done their job at 3-2. When they met at last year's ACC/Big Ten Challenge, it was Virginia winning 64-58 (UNDER 134). Both these clubs have played better on the defensive side of the ball thus far, and while the Buckeyes are in the middle of the pack in terms of tempo, the Cavs are the slowest team out of the 351 teams in Division I. That's enough for us to recommend a small wager against this very low total.
