We'll focus on our weekly USA Today Top 25 report today, see which teams are sitting where they belong and if there are some frauds inside the polls to ware for your basketball betting.

There has been some major movement in the polls this week so there is plenty to talk about and much to think about with our basketball betting desicions.

Falling out of the top 25 completely after being ranked top 10

It wasn't long ago that the Cincinnati Bear Cats sat at #8 in the Nation with a 12-0 record and looked they were primed to be boosted even higher in the rankings, then things went terribly wrong. It all started with a home loss to New Mexico. Yet, they followed up with impressive win at #24 ranked Pittsburgh. Then, it all fell apart for Cincinnati. They took two straight losses on their home floor to unranked St John’s and  #22 ranked Notre Dame. This team had such promise, they could have possibly cracked the Top 5, but yet they fell from grace so quickly that now they may not even be in the Top 25 teams in the country according to the polls. What a drop off.

Pittsburgh wasn't exactly inside the Top 10 but after a disaster year last year, it had looked as things were finally back in place and Pitt were, well, finally Pitt once again. The Panthers were 11-1 with their lone loss being to powerhouse #2 Michigan. Just recently they had a huge game against the  8th ranked Bear Cats to prove themselves, on their home floor but Pitt got smoked by 9 points as a 6.5 point NCAAB betting odds favorite, followed up a horrendous loss to Rutgers. Just when you think this team is taking one step forward they take two steps back. Maybe head coach Jamie Dixons words are falling on deaf ears?

Moving on to teams who have made major leaps in the standings

Ever heard of Wyoming? Well you should because they are now the 25th ranked basketball team in the country, sitting at 13-0. We aren't exactly sold on their strength of schedule –YET –considering they haven't played the big boys of the conference in San Diego State, UNLV and Colorado State. In the long run we believe Colorado State is the much better team, as well as the others listed, so just relax here a bit but give credit where credit is due… for now.

NC State, finally! I have been preaching in every article since I have started that they have deserved to be ranked higher and at one point they even fell out of the Top 25 (which was just embarrassing for the voters, in my opinion) but they now find themselves at #23 and climbing. Huge, huge game coming up with the Duke Blue Devils and as we all know, NC State has given Duke plenty of trouble of the past few years.

Minnesota, quietly, slowly and surely, continues to fly under the radar while they climb up the polls. They now sit as the number #10 team in the nation and deservedly so. The Gophers are 14-1 on the year with their lone loss coming against Duke. They have defeated the likes of Memphis, Richmond, Stanford, Florida State, USC, Michigan State, and Northwestern. We are about to see what they are really made of, as they have a brutal three game stretch coming up with a two game road trip at Illinois and Indiana, then Michigan on their home floor. Good luck with that.

That’s it for this week’s daily Top 25 update. As always good luck with your sports picks and best of luck!
