Maryland vs. Miami and Arizona State vs.Oregon are the college basketball games that we will be covering for our free sports picks in today's NCAAB Picks of the Day. How should you bet these games?

Sunday NCAAB Picks of the Day: ACC and Pac-12 action

Sunday’s college basketball betting is capped off by a pair of evening tips, with the Maryland Terrapins visiting the Miami Hurricanes and Oregon Ducks hosting the Arizona State Sun Devils. Miami has notched a 9-2 spread record in its last 11 ‘board’ battles, while Oregon is 8-3 ATS in the same stretch. Will the home ‘chalk’ stay hot at the basketball betting windows here, or can the road dogs cash?

Maryland Terrapins at Miami Hurricanes

Miami logged a third straight victory in Thursday’s 68-59 triumph over the North Carolina Tar Heels, pulling off a road upset as a four-point dog. Hurricanes forward Kenny Kadji notched a team-high 18 points, while Miami held the Tar Heels to 40 percent field shooting.

Maryland’s 13-game winning streak came to an end with Wednesday’s 65-62 setback as a 6 ½-point home favorite against the Florida State Seminoles. The Terrapins blew a 36-27 halftime lead, while edging out FSU in boards, 39-36.

Last February’s pair of battles between these Atlantic Coast Conference foes saw Maryland cash at 2-0 ATS, with both matchups decided by five points or less. Miami pulled out a wild 90-86 overtime triumph in the affair it hosted, while the Terrapins held on to cash as a 10 ½-point road dog. opened Miami as a 7 ½-point favorite, with early betting action on Maryland driving the number south to six. Despite the shift of 1 ½ points, I am still tailing the early ‘steam’ and backing the Terrapins as road dogs here.

Maryland has swept the betting board in its trio of spots away from home, notching a 3-0 ATS mark, including a pair of matchups as an underdog. Terrapins guard Pe’Shon Howard ranks third in the ACC for assists (5.5 APG), while center Alex Len is among the top five in boards (8.2 RPG) and blocks (2.2 BPG).

Miami has been without big man Reggie Johnson (12.6 PPG, 10.1 RPG) since Dec. 23 due to a thumb injury. The Hurricanes have held their own, but face a tight spot here where the senior’s presence will be missed.

Look for Maryland to cash here on the road, adding to the team’s 8-1 spread record in its last nine spots that followed a defeat.

Arizona State Sun Devils at Oregon Ducks

Arizona State began this week’s trip to the northwest with Thursday’s 72-62 upset of the Oregon State Beavers, cashing as a five-point dog. The Sun Devils outrebounded Oregon State, 45-30, with ASU’s Carrick Felix notching 18 points and a team-high 14 boards.

Oregon saw action on the same night’s card, cashing a fourth straight ticket at Matthew Knight Arena with a 70-66 win over the Arizona Wildcats. The Ducks drained 7-of-11 shots from three-point land, holding on to collect as a 1 ½-point dog after a 41-30 halftime lead. opened Oregon as 9 ½-point ‘chalk,’ with early wagers on Arizona State dropping the number a ‘hook’ to nine. I am also going with the Sun Devils, taking the points with Felix and Co. to stay within cashing range.

Oregon has held visitors to some low numbers on its floor, but faces a letdown spot after knocking off the unbeaten Wildcats. Arizona State comes in with revenge after dropping last January’s matchup in Tempe between the rivals, 67-58, despite shooting a solid 51.2 percent from the floor.

The Sun Devils have a 5-2 spread record in their last seven games that followed a victory, while going 4-1-1 ATS in their last six road meetings with Oregon. Look for Arizona State to get the money again here.
