With plenty of NCAA Basketball games on tap for Tuesday, there's also plenty of mismatches in which we see a clear cut edge. This is a great opportunity to make a profit with our NCAA Basketball Picks of the Day.

Long Beach State 49'ers (1-7) vs #4 Kansas Jayhawks (5-1)

Will Kansas keep their foot on the gas or will they let up as they have an easy matchup against the 49'ers. Long Beach State has proven to be a total failure this season. The Jayhawks to look to pad their record with a "cupcake" on the schedule.

By How Much?

Anyone that reads my articles knows that in total mismatch situations, I mention that it's not if the huge betting favorite is going to win, but by how many points and will they cover? That is the case here as Kansas Jayhawks will have one of their easiest matchups of the season as they take on Long Beach State. Occasionally, "garbage time" can affect the outcome and that would be the only concern when betting Kansas as they're a 27 point betting favorite according to 5Dimes Sportsbook, which is an SBR A+ rated sportsbook.

Frank Mason III

The little man has been putting up huge numbers in his senior season at Kansas as the team relies on him heavily and will go as far as he takes them.

Mason III is coming off of a perfect 5 for 5 effort from 3-point range in a victory over UNC Asheville. In this game, he finished up with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in under 30 minutes. What I like about this player is his ability to rebound the basketball at just 5 foot 11 inches tall. For the season, Mason III is averaging a healthy 21.5 points, 5 assists, 4.3 rebounds , and 1.5 steals per game. There are absolutely no holes in his game and Long Beach State is going to find that out very quickly.

Let's not forget, Kansas is a team that defeated Duke in the season opener at Madison Square Garden. Point being, they deserve to be so highly ranked.

Taking On All Comers

Long Beach State might be just 1-7, but nobody can say that they haven't taken on college basketball's best teams. This is a team that has faced North Carolina, Louisville, UCLA, and now Kansas. They have one of the toughest early season schedules in the nation. The problem is that they're consistently getting blown out by 30 points or more and that should happen here. Look for Gabe Levin (13 points, 7.6 rebounds) and his 49'ers to get beaten handily by the Jayhawks.

#21 Rhode Island Rams (5-1) at Valparaiso Crusaders (6-1)

The Rhode Island Rams have finally leaped to a AP Top 25 spot. Now, it's their chance to prove that belong there as they face a Valparaiso team on the road and are a mere 1.5 point betting favorite. Are head coach Dan Hurley and his Rams up for the task?

Grudge Match

This game should go down to the wire as Rhode Island possesses the deadly 1-2 combination of E.C. Matthews and Hassan Martin while the Crusaders showcase Alec Peters, who is putting up monstrous numbers. Can Rhode keep Peters in check? It will be a tall order as he's had it his way all season. That said, Valpo has faced one elite team thus far and has failed mightily as they lost to Oregon 76-54.

NBA Material?

Forward, Alec Peters, certainly has the size and all around game to play at the next level as he's been a consistent producer for the Crusaders throughout his collegiate career. This season is the cherry on top, so to speak, as he's flat out dominated, averaging 25.1 points and 9.1 rebounds.

Peters is an efficient shooter that's not afraid to take pressure shots and in a close game the Crusaders will look to get him the basketball as he excels on the free throw line. In Valparaiso's big matchup against Oregon, Peters delivered on the offensive end with 24 points, but was held to just 3 rebounds. He will need to protect the glass against the Rams or this will be a non-competitive game in favor of Rhode Island.

Where the Rams are concerned, they've split in their 2 matchups against top 25 action as they defeated the Cincinnati Bearcats and recently lost to Duke, 75-65. One player on the Rams squad that Alec Peters will have to deal with down in the trenches is Hassan Martin and Martin has been a beast thus far this season on the defensive end. He's averaging 4.5 blocks and 7 rebounds per game to go along with his team-leading 16.5 points per game. Look for Martin to play well in this game as he's had to shoulder the load as E.C. Matthews has been in a 2 game slump.

In his last 2 games, Matthews is averaging 7.5 points on 4 of 13 shooting from the field. I expect him to snap out of his slump tonight, but ultimately,Matthews remains a question mark.

This game should go down to the wire and I like the way that Hassan Martin has been playing. Add in better coaching and a tougher schedule and I look for Rhode Island to squeak out a victory.
