Big East and ACC Picks of the Day
Sunday afternoon’s college hoops betting has a pair of nationally televised contests, featuring squads from the Big East and Atlantic Coast Conferences. The No. 12 Louisville Cardinals host the No. 25 Marquette Golden Eagles, while the Virginia Cavaliers visit the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Where are the hardwood’s best wagers for building your final Super Bowl XLVII bankroll?

The Cardinals mated Russ Smith and Gorgui Dieng notched team-highs of 20 points and 12 boards, with Dieng adding five of his side’s six blocks.
The same night of action saw Marquette pick up its eighth win in nine games with a 63-50 triumph against the South Florida Bulls. Golden Eagles guard Vander Blue piled in a season-high 30 points, with he and his mates shooting 55.1 percent en route to cashing as 11-point home favorites.
Louisville and Marquette split last year’s pair of matchups, leaving the last eight meetings between the foes with a 4-4 spread record. Marquette logged a 74-63 win as 4 ½-point home ‘chalk,’ while Louisville ousted the Golden Eagles from March’s Big East Tournament, 84-71, collecting as a 3 ½-point dog.
Bookmaker.eu opened Louisville as a 10 ½-point favorite in Sunday’s battle, while first setting the ‘total’ at 131 ½. Early wagers on the Cardinals and OVER lifted the numbers to 11 and 132 ½, respectively.
I am taking the points here, adding a NCAAB picks ticket on Marquette to my day’s free sports picks. Louisville has been held to 61.8 PPG in its last four contests, while overvalued in recent home spots with a 1-4 ATS mark over the last five games on its floor.
The Golden Eagles have cashed at 3-1 ATS in their four spots as an underdog , while seeing their last trio of road games decided by seven points or less. Look for Blue and Co. to stay within cashing range, having held foes to 40.9 percent field shooting away from home.

Virginia Cavaliers at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (ESPNU)
Virginia notched a fourth straight win in Tuesday’s 58-55 home victory against the North Carolina State Wolfpack, while falling a ‘hook’ short of cashing as 3 ½-point ‘chalk.’ The Cavaliers held N.C. State to 37.7 percent shooting, while Virginia’s Akil Mitchell logged his second double-double in six games with 14 points and 12 boards.
Georgia Tech fell to the Clemson Tigers on the same night’s card, holding on to cash as a six-point road dog in a 63-60 setback. Yellow Jackets mates Marcus Georges-Hunt and Daniel Miller united for 27 points, knocking down 14-of-21 field buckets, while combining for 11 rebounds.
Virginia is 5-0 ATS in its last five meetings with Georgia Tech, including a 70-38 win as a 4 ½-point road favorite in last January’s meeting between the foes. The Yellow Jackets were held to 29.2 percent shooting, including a sparse 1-for-15 night beyond the arc.
5Dimes.eu opened Virginia as a two-point NCAAB odds favorite, with early betting action on the Cavaliers lifting the number a ‘hook’ to 2 ½. I am going the other way here, backing Georgia Tech as a home dog.
The Yellow Jackets have tightened up in their last two contests, giving up 62.5 PPG, while Virginia is 1-3 ATS in its last four spots away from home. Miller has led the ACC in blocks (2.2 BPG), and faces a Cavaliers squad that ranks last among the conference in scoring (62.6 PPG).
Georgia Tech has a 9-4 spread record in its last 13 home dates and should be fueled for improvement after last year’s sizable defeat to the Cavaliers. Look for the Yellow Jackets to come out on top as dogs in a low-octane affair.
